    Honda RC500

One scary motorcycle, only hero's apply.
  2. I have seen this before, I think its low system voltage. Or in normal speak. Your battery is flat.

    There in (almost)

Seen yellow done with TZR wheels, gold too, its too much. If there wasn't the yellow seat and graphics then maybe it would work, like your XJR. But with the TDR being tiny its too much. I'm thinking of some yellow or gold rim tape to finish it off though..
  6. Ok you orrible lot, I know you get all frothy with pictures so here you go. Apart from the incredibly frustrating fact that the caliper bolts I ordered are m10x 1.5 and the actual caliper bolts needed are m10x1.25 the wheels are in, the radius on the front muddy maybe looks a little odd. (have dropped it an inch already. And everything on the rear is close but fits. Need to shorten the chain too as the prillia sprocket is 40t not 44, I could have got a 44 but fancied stretching the gearing a little. I may regret it but hey, a lot of my best ideas have been an 'I wonder if.............?'. Here you go I think they look killer. And before....
  7. Yes it could/should fail the mot. The loose spokes will cause some kind of deformity in the wheel as their not doing their share of the work. You cannot replace single spokes either. Its rebuild time.
  8. If its a flat track racer it may not have any charging system. Could be running total loss from the battery.

    Broken foot

Then you need to fix it. That pump is something you must be able to trust, if its wearing you may not be getting the oil you need to the engine.

    Bloody hell..!

You wait till these Aprilia wheels are in, no more wobbly spokes and tyres from this millennium.
  11. I'm assuming you have a couple of big fk off chains/padlocks and a ground anchor. That's more than enough to put off wankers like that. Long ago I had 2 lads attempt to nick my DT from outside the now wife, then girlfriends, ha no shoes, I ran after them in my shreddies with a inch half thick piece of armoured cable. They dropped the bike and ran, they were trying to carry it though as they could not get the big fuck off chain and lock off. Bolted a big loop to the floor and didn't have hassle again.

    Bloody hell..!

Off the shelf, nope not that strong. Cant see it satisfying in the corners of the Cotswolds though. Did you notice, that sidecar wheel is powered.
  13. Same here. Use the original connections. Cut them off 2 or 3 inches down and solder and heatshrink onto the new stuff. You may find once you have it properly stripped out that the nasties caused by the alarm are easy to sort.
  14. Post your questions in the workshop area this is just for saying hi and breaking the ice. letting us know if you can spin a spanner properly etc Its a good idea to fill out your profile too, like where you are in the world. Otherwise, welcome to the nut ouse.
  15. Have you checked the usual, filter etc, choke not sticking, how much town work do you do. Last time serviced? Bikes don't usually go rich, there is normally a reason.

    RS125 crank seals

Engine out. It is technically possible but in the normal scheme of things either the crank seals have gone then pulling the rubbish/air through the crank seal does for the bearing. Or the bearing has gone and the seal cannot do its job because of the movement. Best advice is change out the crank seals and bearings.
  17. Don't need more power on wheels that size. Like slice said, parts to rebuild the top end will be readily available, probably the same engine as the YB series. Cant get much simpler or easier to work on. Handfull of nuts and the barrel/head is off. Piston and bore swap would take an hour tops, with a fag and tidying up.
  18. Huh, my allergies. If you lot stopped whining about the grub at squires it would help. Granted its not getting any reviews from Michelin but it gets the job done as far as cheap scoff goes. I cant wait myself. its the highlight of my biking year, married with 2 kids etc can lower those expectations a few levels. Huh, used to go to a rally a month from March through to the end of October. I wish..............
  19. I knew they would have to order them. Its why i did it monday.
  20. I rang up to get some tyres last Monday, like 5 working days ago in this fair land of ours. A place where you can get something from Motherwell to Margate in less than a day. Amazon can deliver in hours. My whinge, the Michelin Power 2ct tyres I rang up to order to be ready today, nobody decided to ring and tell me the rear tyre is on back order from Michelin, its so popular they apparently can't make em fast enough (yeah right). Its going to be a week Monday and could be longer before I can get tyres on my prilla wheels. You would think someone would have phoned me. Apparently they are going to request it directly from Michelin by way of sorry so I could have them fitted maybe Wed or Thursday with a bit of luck. I was/still not happy about it. Have tried a few other sellers and they may have the tyres but by the time their posted (if they actually have them, they may just say they have for the business and I will be back at sq 1) it could take longer and i'll have to book em in to get them fitted somewhere.
  21. This section is for saying hello. You can post your problem. Whatever that actually is? In the workshop section. Im not sure if you want more power or your bike is losing power. Remember the detail. Helps a lot on forums.
  22. What are you looking for. Another buget nasty or something of higher quality. Normally cheaper in the long run.

    Good enginers.

Just wanted to give a big thanks to the firm in Northampton that made my spacers. Fitted perfectly with my apalling draftmanship and didnt charge for fixing my 7mm cock up. Stephil (pronounced stefil) Engineering. Dunster street. Northampton 01604 630508 Old skool turners. Costs around £20/h plus material for any one off parts. 4 one off top hat spacers and some minor remachining of my sprocket carrier cost me 35quid. Real nice pair of blokes in a tiny unit that could talk the balls of a brass elephant. Reccomended.
  24. Agree with the c+s but not the cables i ran a 600 suzuki full time for 4 years as 365 transport after we bought the house. None of my cables failed. I was obsessive about maintainance though. Even stripped all the bodywork off come november till the end of march to make any slips on ice several hundred quid easier to sort. Not that we have proper winters any more.
