Dragstar Alarm Woes
yep, or learn. Sounds harsh but its true. The wiring is not that hard to sort in your situation if you spend some youtube time with a coffee learning how to read a wiring diagram. A 2002 drag really is not at all complicated wiring wise, not like say a 2010 r6.

Thundercat 600
Unless you drill and fit the threaded bosses they don't. Things like the r6, cbr's and fireblades have bobins. For the rest of us who don't want to lap the ring road in record time we make do with rubber covered u brackets that just lift the bike under the sw arm. They fit most anything. You have the freedom to move them up and down the sw arm to get the most stable position, or to suit the width of the wheel/sw arm. You may be able to get something that fits around the spindle? not too sure tbh. My bikes are all from the 80's and before.

what year is this bike?
Asking a question before even saying hello? Would you do that normally? Looks like a yb100 from the 80's at a glance. You need to fill out the detail and information, a little about you too, like where you are. That frame number may be nation specific, not knowing which makes it very hard to pinpoint as a lot of the records are scanned not digital so they are searched manually, not forgetting this forum is worldwide so you could be in India for all we know. Its not Yamaha info.com, it really is a get what you give on this forum, although congrats on posting photo's. You need to put more in or I may well be the only reply. That compression tester is next to useless for a 2 stroke too.

1982 rs125dx, running problem
Sudden makes it more electrical then. Its not very technical but have you had it running then jiggle the wires (deeply technical term) and waggled (and again) the bars etc.

1982 rs125dx, running problem
You don't say when it dies. At the end of a dual carriageway, at the lights by the chippy after riding through town? I had this on a Suzuki many years back and it was just some bits in the float bowl, every now and then it would block the main on a fast run and shut down. Then when the engine stopped it drifted away and ran fine again. It was the filter on the fuel tap had given up and bits in the tank were getting through so even cleaning the carb only fixed it for a while. Till i realised the bits were actually bits of the fuel tap....

Yamaha 1100 dragstar 2007
That's because of the pipes, the lack of baffles allows enough air in the exhaust to allow it to ignite, then it goes bang.

Yamaha 1100 dragstar 2007
Wow, don't think going that far into how clean a custom burns is at the front of many who ride them. Generally the rear cyl runs hot because of its mate in front and share the same carb or settings so your dammed from the off. Their inefficient too given the hp for the cc. If you rev most bikes they will pop on the overrun on carbs. Think you have a choice, enjoy the noise, refit stock pipes like noise said. See what I did there.....

XV400 Newbie
Can't help with the bike much, customs don't have 2 stroke engines. Otherwise welcome, hope you get it sorted, probably a set of plugs and such will see it fine, a 400 will be a jap import. Don't worry about that too much. As far as parts, Fowlers. Maybe yambits or webmoto.

Carburettor
You need to buy a lottery ticket then Andy. On the forums I used for rebuilding the daughters bike, they are tantamount to putting sugar in your fuel. They wont perform like the real deal, they may get close but wont last and the finish is awful. Losing 10% of your power on a 500 isn't much but those guys running 50cc its everything. Wouldn't risk it. Had several 'Chinese bargains' that ended up costing far more in the long term so now I just don't. Except for my helicopter stuff, but that is pence anyway, buy 5 throw 2 away. Except rotor head parts, (foamy knows) lost a really nice flying heli from a blade link leaving at around 50ft in the air. Slow corkscrew into the ground like in a ww2 film, just needed some special effects and sound.

Carburettor
John, seriously, actually recommending a Chinese carb. Shame.

YBR125 Chain
No if you change sprockets it wont lift off. It passes through the frame. Webmoto's standard option for the ybr will be fine. The fancy stuff only matters on the bigger bikes. Then only hype. O ring or not is the basic choice. Your ybr if on its original chain will need splitting. Grinder is cheaper for the use a splitter will get. The replacement should come with a split link.

Power
Know how far i rode my tdr running it in at under 6k....? NOWHERE. All that running in rubbish is cobblers. I did a steady trip to my mums ( under 10 miles) to be sure nothing fell off, leaked. Then rode normally. Avoid really hanging on the throttle or brutal down changes for a bit. Otherwise just use it. That bore will do 15k tops before being done. How much longer will you get chugging around at 6k. I bet less. You could even glaze the bore with modern oil and lose performance. Its a smoker mate. Av it.

Power
Down on power is a very open statement. Can you explain it in a more detailed way with some kind of reference. "Top speed on a flat is 45mph and chokes on WOT." For example. For all i know you could weigh 22stone. On some 125 bikes a flappy jacket or a mild headwind will render top all but useless.

MT-09 Hot start issue
Do what most people do. Fit a power commander. It takes control of the fueling map. You may have spent 2 or 300 quid to get it and set it up but your bike will be better and if set up properly on a dyno. Any heat issues should show to boot. 4hrs for nothing. Or a power commander and a few quid to have it set up. Seems an easy choice. Or flog the bike on a cool day.
-
oh santa. pretty please.....
Used a neighbours toolkit over the weekend changing the alternator on the wifes car. (See why its a 500 quid job). Oh my. Its a blue steel set (snap on). Half and quater drive rachets and sockets from 4 to 24mm. Spanners too. Extensions and a full set of torx and star drive drivers. Its was just so good to use. Really good. WANT ONE........

Dtr 125 water pump seal problems
Coolant in the gearbox means the waterpump seal is going. When it goes propper your gearbox will fill with coolant and dump white oily snot all over the back of your bike including the wheel. Park it.

1999 Yamaha SR125 - Potential Sticking Clutch Plates?
Sometimes with the lil puddlehoppers people go veeeery long on oil changes or use the nasty pound shop or forecourt stuff. Some proper motorcycle engine oil will make a difference. Even if it isn't the issue and its not nearly expensive enough to skimp on either.

Changing a simple Bulb !!
Mate of mine is a scaffolder and it wouldn't phase him, he worked on the docklands and canary wharf. I have seen him doing stooopid shit up high. According to Lem its the first 12 feet that causes the nasty injuries, after that your just dead, so why worry, 20Ft or 2000 its all the same to him. He is proper nuts though. Makes Johns mate look shy. Aside from that, how the fuck do they build these things?

Southport today with Tommy
More interesting than my Sunday, just bought a 2 setee's for the living room. Bit of good news though, their reclining Lazy-boys, soooooo comfy. Something the USA DO get right.

Dont get too hung up on keeping your bike mint.
Johns view is a bike like this will give him years of use, the 400 has mega miles on it, like 70 thousand. This new one at 15 and like new will do for a long time, so good vfm. I mentioned a hack, maybe an old divvy and he said he likes sport bikes. He can't afford a new one so this is as close as he can get. Fair enough. Its not so bad he said he is keen on keeping this one as tidy as he can, he is going to salt proof her this weekend with that winter spray stuff, forget the name. (I don't need it, done my winter miles).
