  1. Is that you or the bike that's a bit rough in places?
  2. Nah, some do earn a name. Very good friend of mine had a Range Rover, one of the early ones. White, very nice. He invariably named his cars usually something with the number plate, whatever. Well I said 'its a big white box just like my fridge', it stuck, from that day forever more it was known as 'The Fridge'.
  3. LOL, There is your answer, the alarm is faulty or its connections have worn/weakened , check/remove as you please and even money it fixes it. Alarms are notorious.
  4. He? Thought bikes were defacto 'She'
  5. This section is for introducing yourself. Start a thread in the classics or workshop section and give as much info as you can, we cannot see the bike or what you have done. We have to ask unless you tell us.
  6. You really should pop an intro in the new members area, bit of netiquette. Bulbs good?
  7. Bloody hell, that's an 8mm jump for 20cc, where did you get that info from. Even the 80 only has a 16mm carb. General practice when I was knocking about on these (when they were new sigh) was the DT50m carb was the goto choice, 16mm and good to go, bolts straight on with an inlet manifold from the same, tricky to find though now. I cannot understand how 20mm will do anything but make somebody money knocking out special manifolds, bigger reed blocks.
  8. No. That's the earlier manual. The one I listed also has the mx details. Also quite a comprehensive wiring section with diagrams of most ft wiring. Both us and Europe.
  9. Ohh shit, must still have some of last nights drink in me, i can see double..
  10. Antivirus wont let me see it, something about a certificate.

    5EB CLOCKS

In the days of modern electronics, its likely that without an emulating test rig they wont power up. Lots of signals its supposed to receive from the ecu will be missing so you will just drown in fault codes if it comes on at all..
  12. The 75 just uses a big assed resistor, front of the frame on the down tubes, on the Haynes manual isbn 1 85010 300 3 you can see it on the cover on a dt100.
  13. Just a thought, (my stuff is waaaaaaaaay to old) if were talking standard obd2 stuff you can download the software and get the cables for your lap top for not a lot of cash. The obd doctor i have to fix the wife's car only cost 30 quid. The forscan for the Mondeo was 12, with the cable. Useful way to get a good quality odb2 cable is to buy the forscan unit anyway rather than a cheap chineese cable. Not saying it does work, i haven't tried it on a bike but it has so far worked on Renault, Nissan, and BMW. Must be worth investigating.
  14. We can definitely help, the problem being you have tacked on to a frankly ancient thread. Your chance of a response is low at best. Go for a bit of an intro in the new members area then kick off with a proper thread of your own in the 'workshop' area. I will lock this one.
  15. Seeing as the dt had a 12mm carb you need to give more info. while your at it introduce yourself properly in the new members area.
  16. Bug cleaning. Easy. Keep it polished and they come off when you wash it.
  17. Surely you mean Challenger ?
  18. As of now, that auction is still running? Is that an example or THE bike? Don't think you will be outbid?
  19. I do have some spare carb parts that are 175, need cleaning up and such, no promises their 100% but you can have em for the postage. Will have a look in my bits box.
  20. There is one outside a paintball arena near junction 3 on the m6, always makes me cringe, broken windows etc. Its tied down. Why? Hardly likely to blow over. There is an old jet parked next to it now too. Should have been a tank, something like a Pig. Not forgetting i ran a 3.5 v8 landrover (genuine de-mob forward control crate motor in that) 4-8mpg, and a 4.6 range rover. ran them for years. That 4.6 could match the stally for fuel ( more comfy though). Single figures pulling the caravan at best, 12mpg driving like a saint on a long trip solo, that hurts when your doing 300 miles to cornwall.
  21. My dt is not good on fuel. Come to think about it. None of my bikes have been any good. Could be a common link. I wonder? Funnily enough i get the best mpg. Like 20miles more from a tank at the yoc weekend

    NE0 is still alive!

Who me? Neo... Neo... rings a bell. Hmmmm
  23. That is my weeky work mileage. Thats 2 full tanks of fuel and getting home on fumes with the tdr.
