  1. What are you going to lubricate. You will foul your plugs as the tiddly 4t things wont clear. Prob hotspot the valves with carbon as well as running lean and REALLY fubar your emmisions.
  2. Take the lenses off you originals. Get any old tin of black aerosol paint. Put a light mist coat across the inside of the lense. It wont look dark but you will be surprised. Then refit. Brightness almost unafected. And you dont have to suffer the crappy aftermarket things.
  3. Its an air leak and on a Dt175 of that age the runaway favorite will be the crank seals.

    Dont worry. Nayruf gave me loads of info on o rings. Have tracked down the proper part. Had £10 minimum order but its the right part for the job. Actually talked through what i needed with them. Being part of the 2 stroke system and the mess the knackerd one made. I wanted it right. Only downside is i will have a 'couple' of spares.

    Oh and to point out the omg factor. On a TDR250 the oil tank and the fuel tank are one and the same. Kerching

    18mm internal Approx 3mm od. The ring recess (er?) 24mm od with the base of the fitting being 26mm so 3mm looks about right. The original is knacked so can't trust its even the original.

    Struth. Was on the phone to fowlers as i wanted to replace an o ring that is in the 2stroke oil supply circuit thats perished. Well its 3mm dia and maybe 15mm across. You cant buy it on its own. It comes as part of THE COMPLETE TANK ASSEMBLY. Just guessing what that would cost (it was poa and a back order item, quell suprise) gave me sweats. Pack of various from halfrauds i guess.
  9. LOL Anyway. Had loud pipes and had stock pipes and the thing that sticks in my mind is the police. My TDR is quiet i can bimble home at 3am or past livestock fine. Also i wont have plod hearing me and moving to intercept. All loud pipes do these days is get you nicked.
  10. Its not a 'manual' power valve. Done right it gives 20hp. They took the electronics off amongst other things to give 12hp.
  11. The brake set up wont change. You will have to remake the brake mounts on the other side if your flipping the arm over. And obviously removing the originals from what is now chain side.

  14. So everything fed from the battery via the ig switch doesent work. Hmm where to start. Battery Fuse Brown wire with white tracer (i think) to ig sw Ig sw and connectors
  15. ATF wont help. Slips and grabs is bloody awful as a description of clutch operation. Does it drag finding neutral. Slip at full power/high gears. Most likely wear on the basket forks, locating tynes on the plates worn to an edge or the plates have worn. You know by eye a knaked clutch looks the same as a good one.
  16. The most effective tuning I have found is a decent service. Then make sure the chassis is good. Dragging brakes and a bad chain could eat 30% of your power.
  17. In that case make the first couple of trips short ones. Enough to heat the motor fully then let her cool. Check for leaks and such. Especially the exhausts and the 2stroke supply. Leaky exhausts kill 2strokes real easy. DONT add extra oil to the tank. Then run it easy for a bit. Keeping the engine lightly loaded. After 20 or 30 kms continue as my earlier post. Its not the pistons your running in. Its just the bearings your actually running in if they are halfway decent quality they will actually need little running in.
  18. Ha, no ypvs. Could be gearbox oil but unlikely. The hoses have a habit of perishing at the clips. It may be oil pump its self but unlikely.
  19. If you haven't touched the crank just use it. Ignore all that 500km bollocks. Dont abuse it. Stay out of wot and don't let it chug in low gears. For a few miles. Running in is more about putting heat cycles on the motor and making sure nothings leaking. Otherwise ride it and enjoy.
  20. Dont mind. Just one thing. Can we PLEASE avoid the efing A1. The Romans may have loved it but I drive it way too often for work. If you use it this year im going another route up. Maybe the A6ish or the A15ish.
  21. Those reeds will make little or no difference to a regular dt. Sounds like somewhere you have a small air leak. Being after the carb its leaning the mixture out.
  22. Different type of vibe that is a much higher frequency that sends bits of you numb. Your glad their fuel economy has you filling up every 100mls. I did 160mls last year to squires. Over 500 for the weekend.
