Here's another one similar...working in Health & Safety, this ones "Occupational Humour" for me The Good Lord In the year 2006 the Lord came unto Noah, who was now living in England and said, "Once again, the earth has become wicked and over populated and I see the end of all flesh before me. Build another Ark and save 2 of every living thing along with a few good humans". He gave Noah the CAD drawings, saying "You have 6 months to build the Ark before I will start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights". 6 months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah weeping in his yard - but no Ark. "Noah!" he roared, "Im about to start the rain! Where's the Ark?" "Forgive me Lord" begged Noah "But things have changed. I needed Building Regulations Approval because the Ark was over 30m2. Ive been arguing with the Fire Brigade about the need for a sprinkler system. My neighbours claim that I should have obtained planning permission for building the Ark in my garden because it is development of the site even though in my view it is a temporary structure, but the roof is too high. We had to go to appeal to the Secretary of State for a decision. The Local Area Access Group complained that my ramp was going to be too steep, and the inside of the Ark wasnt fully accessible, the The Department of Transport demanded a bond be posted for the future costs of moving power lines and other overhead obstructions, to clear the passage for the Ark's move to the sea. I told them that the sea would be coming to us, but they would hear nothing of it. Getting the wood was another problem. All the decent trees have Tree Preservation Orders on them and we live in a Site of Special Scientific Interest, set up in order to protect the spotted owl. I tried to convince the environmentalists that I needed the wood to save the owls - but no go!. When I started gathering animals, the RSPCA sued me. They insisted that I was confining wild animals against their will. They argued the accommodation was too restrictive, and it was cruel and inhumane to put so many animals in a confined space. Then the County Council, the Environmental Agency and the Rivers Authority ruled that I couldnt build the Ark until the had conducted an environmental impact study on your proposed flood. Im still trying to resolve a complaint with the Equal Opportunities Commission on how many BME's im supposed to hire for my building team. The Trade Unions say I cant use my sons. They insist I have to hire only CSCS accredited workers with Ark Building experience. To make matters worse, Customs & Excise siezed all my assets, claiming Im trying to leave the country illegally with endangered species. So, forgive me Lord, but it would take at least 10 years for me to finish this Ark". Suddenly the skies cleared, the sun began to shine and a rainbow appeared. Noah looked up in wonder and asked "You mean your not going to destroy the world?" "No", said the Lord "The Labour Government beat me to it!"

Hiya..I have a similar story to yours... Just went for the CBT Nov 07 never having ridden before, it bloody snowed & everfink.... Didnt start my lessons til the following April, had a few on the 125 to get back into the swing of it all then onto the ER5 Passed on August 13th Got my first bike, a 1999 R6 in September...loving my lil crotch rocket... It does have its moody moments but Im getting on ok with it... Hoping to get out on it this weekend..im a cage driver in the week at the mo and its hella frustrating Nowt like a good blast to blow out the cob webs and what wonderful scenery you have up there... Ride safe & enjoy

I think its common courtesy and mutual respect and everyone should do it ... thats just my opinion...

I watched a programme about this last night...unbelievable that the pilot hit the skill and expertise nail right on the head when it came to ditching in the Hudson and preventing the plane from breaking up...hitting the water at the correct angle etc and ultimately saving everyones life... Last time we saw a water ditch attempt it was the Ethiopian Airlines hi-jacked flight which cartwheeled on impact breaking the plane up and killing 150 out of the 175 folks on board... Well done Sully and his Co Pilot and a big Thanks to "them upstairs" for bringing that down, dare I say safely??..... ...and..."Hi five" to the folks involved in getting that out of the Hudson and transported off to the breakers yard

That blows!!!! But on a serious note...Did anyone else see this weeks MCN...and the bit about those 'Grey Boxes' that are the new bike catchers?? There are going to be 12 nicely placed along specific bike routes over the country..and they cleverly detect bikes only and via satallite, send your Reg no and speed to a database thingy accessible by the police... No cameras, no flashing signs...just a boring looking grey box with a transmitter on the top....Cat & Fiddle Road and Matlock Bath are pinpointed for these lovely things...
