As above petrol resistant lacquer, i got a tin from halfords and its the same price as normal laquer but is for bike tanks ect Phil

Think the summers over judging by the weather lol, why dont you get a pair of each then you can wear the winter ones in winter and the summer ones in summer

Im on with putting my fz forks back together, the coils on the spring are closer together at one end than the other, anyone any idea which way round the spring would go back in?? Phil

Had another crack at this today, i emptied the float bowls 3 were full of sh*t and 1 was bone dry, hooked up a decent battery and never started doesnt really seem to fire but had a small amount of backfire, il pull the plugs out tomorrow as i aint got a spanner small enough, in the meantime i slipped a random plug i found into the ht lead and crancked her over for a minute it had a couple of poor sparks and that was it Shud of got another yam lol Phil

I collected it today but havnt done much with it, im going to try tommorow starting from cold with a decent battery as this one thats on aint got much charge in it and il see what happens, if its no different il try a compression test Phil

Ive picked me up another bike to run about on til i get my fz sorted, its only a zxr250 i collect it tomorro, its having a bit of starter bother, it wont start off the button cold apparently but will bump start, on the other hand itl fire up off the button when warm the fella says, anyone any ideas why before i go through to collect it, out i should look for?? Phil

Im in the middle of trying to do my fork seals, ive got one fork leg done correctly i think but the second is been a get, i couldnt remove the allen bolt from the bottom of the leg as its spinning so in order i had to take off the top cap to get in to hold the other allen bolt on the other end, i havnt got it sorted yet but am gonna tackle it at the weekend, only thing when i took the cap off the spring shot across the yard with everything else attached to it lol, how do i get the spring back in and the cap on afterwards as it seems hellish tight to push down. My fz tank had quite a few holes, i emptied it out left it a few days then set about welding it, the only prob i had was due to it been that thin i ended up chasing the weld, i think i got halfway across the tank before i filled the holes lol

Ah yeah, i used to live in dentonholme, but have moved back home now to thursby just outside dalston but class it as carlisle as its the nearest big city Phil

Hey all im currently fightering an old fz i picked up but the fuel tanks like a sieve, breakers are qouting daft prices for a replacement, are there any other tanks off anything else like a fz750 or fzr thats a close fit?? Also same for the forks are these interchangble with other models?? Regards Phil
