  1. Go for it! You know you want to....
  2. Glorious weather again today, went for a spin around north Cork/Limerick area. Did about 175 miles, had the aul FZR singing!
  3. I,m assuming float heights are ok? From the symptoms you describe, it seems to be running lean. Might be worth looking at the carbs again. Is the tank ok? Carbs might be drawing in dirt/sediment/rust, etc.
  4. Possibly air leak? Perished carb intake rubbers? Are you sure the fuel pump is working ok?

10w40 semi-synthetic oil, any reputable brand (Castrol,Motul, Silkolene, etc.).
  6. Beautiful bike, great resto!
  7. As 2 Wheels said, try swapping leads....possible faulty coil/lead/cap. As regards plug removal, remove the four bolts holding on the rad, then you can move the rad forward slightly giving you a little more access.
  8. Won,t do the charger any harm but it could take ages to charge the car battery. Can you borrow jump leads & jump it off a neighbours/friends car?
  9. that,s class! Sounds like a Kwacker triple going flat out....then that ugly Swedish cage lumbers into view.

    How,s it goin, bai!....Welcome.
  11. It won,t damage your engine as such. However, semi-synthetic would be a better and cheaper choice.
  12. Nice vids, Fazers sounds good! What kind of can have you got on it?
  13. Without question it,d be a mint OW01, the ultimate Yam as far as I,m concerned.
  14. AFAIK, the engine & frame numbers for the SP model began with 4HS, 4HT, 4FN, 4HB or 4JA. Hope this helps.
  15. More than likely...Re Hackbridge Cossacks post, build quality seems really poor (rusty nuts & bolts, fading plastics, etc.). In many respects it,s worse than my FZR & that,s sixteen years old!
  16. I,ve had to replace cush drive rubbers, wheel bearings (incl. sprocket carrier bearing) & chain & sprockets on my MT-03 after relatively low mileage. I.ve had other thumpers (XT 500, SRX 600) but this problem seems unique to the MT. Bad desisgn and/or poor quality materials?......
  17. Jeez that fairing was ugly!...You,d be better off getting a new exhaust, modifying/altering the standard exhaust could screw up the running.

DT 125MX, XT 500, SRX 600, TRX 850 plus the three Yams I,ve got at the moment.
  19. It,s an XJ 600 Diversion.

    Nope, definitely BSA 500/650 twin....
  21. bonzoid60 replied to drewpy's topic in The Bar
It,s different, if nothing else!.... Looks like a BSA A50/A65 motor....
  22. Is the choke sticking?
  23. bonzoid60 replied to a post in a topic in Yamaha Gallery
Nice Cat!, is that a Viper can?....
  24. Alot of inline fours are buzzy at high rpm, particularly newer generation fours with their higher rev ceilings. BTW, have the bars/ end weights been changed?
