    car drivers

on the few times i drive i also find myself doing lifesavers but worse still is leaning into bends my sons pointed it out to me and i thought they were tacking the piss but then i noticed that i was, hope i dont do it on public transport lol
  2. well had decided to keep mine but now having taken a run out to dk at stoke i am very tempted to let them have it, i had thought i would sell it for £1300 private sale , spoke to a salesman at dk about a xj600 they had for sale and mentioned putting mine in px he said about £1100 if it was clean with no damage, well arrived there saw the xj600 then he came out to look at my bike and said i thought you said it was clean? f...king hell mate its mint the offer then went to £1400 so i said i will think about and it left him my number. so all i can say is i will sleep on it
  3. sorry mate it might be a yamaha ,but it would have been better to introduce yourself. but in my case i have already voted for this lovely bike even though its not a yammie

    All At Sea

looks great fun bit to far for me 280mile round trip from here with no heated grips, they did the same thing at ainsdale beach near southport years ago must see if they still do or brave it to mablethorpe
  5. you cant go wrong with a dragstar , i also ride evey day rain or shine but always clean bike everytime and get of road salt etc its the only way to maintain your bike is ok , the reason i put pictures of my bike up again is that so many people on here keep saying they want one and they are hard to find a good one, bollocks i am with taskmaster on this there are loads out there if you really want one then do it , otherwise i end up reading the same old topics again and again thanks one and all for your comments on my bike
  6. there are plenty of dragstar 125,s for sale through out the country some good some not,if you are looking to buy one and you are looking at dealers then they will always be three or four hundred pounds more than a private sale, and as for trading one in then you wont get your money back from one bought through a dealer! thats how they make there money and survive , i have a 2001 125xvs dragstar with 4600 mile on the clock i was asking £1300 pounds private sale but yesterday and today have had two dealers offer me stupid amounts one who had a dragstar for sale in his showroom with 12thousand mile on the clock and agreed mine was far cleaner but said well we have to make a profit not from me mate. heres mine clean or what so i have now decided to keep it and run two bikes good luck in your looking for the right one
  7. hi mettalicafan, i had a similar problem bike would start up ok run for a few miles and the engine would just die as though you had just switched it off would start straight away but sometimes do it again after half a mile, i read on the virago owners site a guy called tim was giving tips on common problems with dragstars as he had one as well as a few other members he said it was the sidestand switch an after tacking it apart drying it out regreaseing it seemed to cure it well i gave it a try and have had no further problems for two months till this morning, mind you with all this wet weather it might be just a case of drying it out again will let you know

  16. you are not having a lot of luck at the moment! i learnt the hard way stuck in the middle of no where dark no mobile phone as i hate the bloody things but have now come to realise they do have some benifits, since that day i always carry my mobile and a small magalite torch in my jacket as its no use trying to repair a bike in the middle of nowhere in the pitch black even the bloody moon was against me , hope your luck improves as its a long way for your dad to go when you are in ireland, lol

  22. thanks jim and og your both right, i think now having looked at it again he did me a favour and as i am thinking of going back to a bigger bike it was a waste of money in the long term
  23. well today i thought i might get a set of heated grips and hein gericke had an offer on , have had them on other bikes but not on this bike, so off i went to get them, as i was buying them the guy looked through the window and asked me what size engine the bike was i replied its a 125 dragstar at which point he put the heated grips back on the shelf with no good for you mate they would drain your battery cant fit them on 125 bikes, as its a 12 volt battery i did not think it would be a problem? but he would not sell me any whos right?
