  1. its good but not the chords i play, is this with a capo?
  2. on you mate it still looks cool the marlon brando (wildone) style jacket the uniform of my youth ,jeans and leather jacket brothel creepers open face helmet and goggles, but having seen two old guys at a recent bike show dressed like that its nostalgic but sad, not for me my t shirts get enough comments thank god my waterproofs don't leak at the crotch, i would think incontinence had set in lol
  3. it was tongue in cheek i thought it might make you laugh! sunday rides are fine but like you i ride everyday rain or shine cant understand this its cold or wet comments if you only rode in decent weather in this country you would never get out on your bike,at least the gear these days is far better than the crap from the sixties.
  4. sandwiches! good god i would have thought a young executive like you working for a large utility company would have been having lunch in the exec lounge? of course its a bit of a silly thing but arent most custom built bikes even the production bike put the fear of god up me on a test ride last year no way i would reach my next birthday riding one of those and the hayabusa the police round here have one unmarked the sneaky buggers!
  5. hey dragstar125 there are rockets and rockets but this custom built one built for bennets the bike insurance firm is something else The engine is a 2.3l Triumph Rocket 3 engine, making it the fastest production street bike in the world, capable of 0-60mph in just 2.6 seconds. The ‘one off’ carbon fibre wheels measure up to be much larger than a standard motorbike, with rear wheels 300mm wide and front wheels 180mm wide. The bike itself is kitted out with aircraft quality aluminium, with the highest technology materials available.
  6. me and some mates went on a fishing holiday in scotland and decided to travel overnight ,my mate harry had just got sat nav and is a bit of a know all and cant spell to save his life,we set of with harry putting in the name inverarie but harry for some reason put it in and mispealt it nobody noticed and in the middle of the night we woke up in the middle of nowhere near a place called invergowrie 77 miles from where we should have been, so after bollocking harry somebody else put it in and off we set only to wake up as it was getting light to find ourselves 120 miles in the wrong direction, sat nav is great if you can spell or in our case at least one of you has some brain cells,we never did do any fishing but we had a great laugh and a few beers.
  7. i knew there was a reason i dont have sat nav lol
  8. side stands all the way far easier to just dismount and get off, i am with you on this taskmaster having pulled my back out lugging a bloody heavy triumph up on its stand and being in agony all day because i did not do it right.
  9. nice to meet you and oldgit yesterday will keep my eyes open for the next one and come for the ride, just thought it would surprise you both finding me in the pub car park, the crosswinds on the m62 going back were a bit strong across death valley glad i was on the fz and not the dragstar, see you next time
  10. i am sorry to have to say this but after insulting a fair few people on here, suspended for seven day does not do it for me, we all know the rules, to have let the thread go on for so long was a mistake and admin and the moderators should have stepped in sooner before it got out of hand,he should not be allowed back on this forum.
  11. this is an american term so i presume you are one of our many american members,it means that the bike has been rebuilt by an unknown manufacturer ,the bike could be a stolen and recovered bike or one that was abandonded or even a crash repair mileage not warranted this term is used by many auction houses in the states and can affect title but not always, not sure of current state laws as its been a long time since i lived your side of the pond maybe one of our american members can advise you
  12. It happens to all of us ... So, I was riding into work this morning, and this dick in a truck pulls out in front of me ....
  13. hi mate ,the reason i have put your quote on again is because the clues were all there the popping noise was the bike misfiring that along with the loss of power the bike getting harder to start when you come out of work.the bike was struggling as every time you used it the plugs were getting more and more fouled up,theres no hard and fixed rule with plugs if your bike is running ok then you should not have to touch them in between services but if your bike is running rich or lean then taking out your plugs and examining them will tell you a lot about what is happening. they have now changed the plugs and put new ones in so that has sorted the problem out for now but what was causing the plugs to foul in the first place? as you are new to biking and want any advice in laymens terms its not always easy to give advice, you mention the front mudguard is broken and excess dirty water is hitting the engine its not ideal but that alone should not cause the problem if the plugs are well in, the leads can get damp and may not be giving the plugs a good enough spark, give them a good wipe over and a spray with something like wd40 to drive out any moisture. as for fuel it was only a case of your bike getting more fuel than your bike was able to manage causing the plugs to get fouled and excess fuel being sucked out further and causing the bike to misfire, keep your eye on the situation dont use your choke all the time or ride with choke on and keep an eye on your plugs A spark plug can easily and quickly tell you the condition of an engine (good or poor), how it is running (rich or lean) and how much it will cost to fix it. It is better to fix the problem than to change the sparkplug to patch it up. hope your bike is running better but dont forget there are plenty of folk on here to give you a hand with anything you want to know just ask

    Disturbing

i am amazed by this topic, ask any midwife in the country and they will tell you its not uncommon for them to have at least one or more a week of 14 and 15 year old mums, the disturbing part for me was that had the positions been reversed a 15yr old lad getting a 12yr old girl pregnant and not the other way round it would have been a witch hunt what the f..k was a 15yr old girl doing having sex with a 12yr old boy she must take some responsibility, what were the parents doing ? do any of you that are parents know what your 15yr olds are doing all the time i doubt it mine never knew what i got up to thank god, but when i saw what paper it was THE SUN well what can you expect from them its on the par with watching springer , tricia and kyle and the rest of the rubbish. the abuse of children by adults in this and other countrys is a far more disturbing issue
  15. hi mate, i have a 2001 and a mate has a 2002 xvs125 dragstar and yes i can confirm there is a drainage hole in the rear section of the exhaust as condensation can build up in the exhaust, i came across it like you it was a cold day and the bike was warming up while i put my helmet on when i noticed it after talking to my mate he had said not to worry he had checked his work shop manual and asked his local dealer and it was meant to be there; have not been on for a few days otherwise i could have told you.
  16. hi mate i also have a dragstar and until i got another bike recently it was used every day and undercover but since i got another bike it can sit for two or three days outside with a cover over it but when i do use it, it starts ok but it doesnt like the cold and coughs splutters for england till its had a bit of a run, do you keep yours outside or undercover?but by the sound of things loss of power and the popping it does sound like the others might be right that its exhaust related, how long are you using the choke for? and are you using the choke for longer because the bikes cutting out
  17. as per usual drep nothing in manchester the nearest to us is st helens or winsford ,the size of manchester and districts you would have thought so, our police must be to busy with all the speed cameras and other fund raising activities
  18. good luck steve with your project it might not be everybodys cup of tea but its yours, like gas up i agree all hobbies cost money but you will have many hours of pleasure and frustration in equal doses even if you never complete it you will gain so much experience which you can take on to further projects, give the bike a good clean off stand back and have a good look at what lies ahead and prove all the doubters wrong, it wasn,t a kings ransom in cost so have fun and enjoy your project, i for one have made many mistakes in buying bikes but have never had regrets i always remain positive, have a ball and post a few pictures .
