  1. then i would change the yamaha dealership who is servicing your bike, as that is not my understanding of how it works , nice work if you can get it and no i am not a rocket scientist but have been riding and servicing bikes for 40 yrs my own and the bikes i rode for 22yrs in the army and that was my understanding of the service schedule.but as it is underwarranty as suppose they can do what they want
  2. its every 6000mls or 12 months which ever comes first so as your bike had not reached 6000mls thats why an interim service was done which means your next service is due when you have done 6000mls which means your next service is due at 9361miles not when your speedo says 6000mls.
  3. "low mieage you are penalised"? at the mileage you seem to do its going to be at least another 9 months before your 6000ml service is due and another two years before a 12000ml service is due, so how are you being penalised, by then i will have done 18000ml and had three services so maybe i am being penalised for doing more miles, the easy answer is when your two year warrantry is up to service it yourself most of it is not rocket science. but i cant see how your being ripped of sorry.

a hearse? so is its a remake of four weddings and a funeral congrats and best wishes
  7. a couple of photos of my fz without the fairing on,as mervin said plastech is great for cracks and repairs on fairings hope the photos help.
  8. your right ,what if she had said no she was not riding the bike to the police station! being older i would have wanted to know why they had stopped me and why they wanted me to go to the police station, with radios in there car they can check your insurance ,mot and tax. and an unmarked police car what the hell is going on and another countys force supplying the dyno it stinks.
  9. looks like they have a hidden agenda what a load of bastards if you buy a bike and find out its been altered it should be down to the seller unless he told you it had been altered, most of the younger riders on here who have similar bikes have altered or derestricted theres but at least they know what has been done, its just another money making scheme sorry to hear you have been done.
  10. the traffic cars subarus, rapid response vechicles there bikes a lot of garages have dynos, for a short time i sold tools to garages and police work shops its not unusual for even the smaller dealers to have one. sorry i dont understand the paperwork bit, if they do a dyno test on any vehicle then you should be given a copy stating what the results were ,my point about the calibration certificates were that every thing from speed guns to intiximeters need to be checked and made sure they are accurate and a calibration certificate issued if they have not done this then what ever paper work they have issued his daughter is worthless so it is worth asking to see the certificates on the off chance they are not up to date. but knowing the police they probably are but they do make mistakes.
  11. most of the stations in the area i live in have there own mechanics and well equipped workshops to look after there own cars vans and police bikes so i cant see whats weird in them having a dyno, but i would make sure the calibration certificates are up to date, loop holes in the law work both ways if they are reluctant to show you the certificates then maybe they are not up to date but as they are pulling in so many bikes maybe the chief constable has a hidden agenda to remove young bikers in his county to make his figures look good.
  12. the sad fact is these laws exist and if the EU have there way learner riders will no longer be able to ride a bike on l plates unless accompanied by an instructer 150,,000 riders will be affected, not only have we been lumbered with this new test but if all the other things come in not many new riders will be enjoying what we have, at least then they wont be able to pull in riders for having a moped that can do more than 31mph, but dont you have to be doing at least 31mph on the swerve part of the test?
  13. There will be calibration certificates for the equipment as there is for all equipment used for law enforcement. You are entitled to see these certificates. there is a lot of forces now pulling younger riders in as so many of these bikes have been altered, even a sports type exhaust can make a difference. i take it your dayghter is only 16 in which case she is restricted to a p catergory the vechicle must not be able to do more than 50kph or 31 mph. is the bike standard or has it got a different exhaust on it than original as it is over by 10mph it sounds like the bike is not standard . ask to see the calibration certificates and take what information you can from it ie when it was last done and where but to be honest you seem to be on a loser, there seems to be a clamp down on younger bikers which is very unfair.
  14. you will notice the difference in riding position and style of riding but go for it i dont have a problem and i will be 62 in a couple of weeks, i dont ride a thundercat but an fz600 they do have some vibration on the wrists but not to bad even on a long run.
  15. what year? what mileage?when was it last run on the road , mot history, photo any information is better than what your asking! none of us on here can either see the condition of the bike or know anything about it without a clue of what year it is or any information. similar kids trials bikes ty 80s on e bay going at the moment £250 ish

    gyt kit

gyt kits have not been available over here since the sixties During the 1960's Yamaha supplied many so called GYT kits for many models, but when the "real" race-kit parts became available for the AS1 everything changed.so most people on here being younger would not have heard of them.they were more popular your side of the pond and were available longer, maybe some of the older guys your side might be able to help.
  22. and also played the part of peggy bundy! so when somebody has played such a memorable part as that i just picture her as peggy its not as though she is such a great actor that i overcome that aspect. having downloaded all season one as i do with a lot of american series my american mates tell me are worth watching ,i still cant take it seriously, graphic scenes like that dont do it for me ,now real life thats different.

    Toons

have been reading this thread and laughing to myself, when i was teaching my late wife to drive she never knew her left from her right, so i came up with what i thought was a stunning plan i asked her what hand she wore her wedding ring on she replied on my left hand so i said right when i want you to turn lft i will say married and when i want you to turn right not married ,so off we set and it was working great till she asked me which way now and i said not married and she turned left down a one way street with me shouting no no i said not married at which point she burst in to tears saying i was confusing her! well she never did learn to drive, she did try her hand at a motorbike but never got off the drive without hitting something.
  24. sorry cant take this programme seriously because katey sagel who plays ron perlemans other half used to be peggy bundy keep waiting for al bundy to show up
