SRX400...It's alive, but...
Hi Buddy Can't tell you for definate but here's what i'd do. Take of the carb for a good clean and check the float inside. Sometimes they get stuck and may need a clean / replacing. Check the wiring on the start button. Do you have a kill switch? If you do it could be faulty. If it is there are two wires (red) that enter the kill switch. Take them out and just tape them together to circuit out the switch. Get a multimeter to check the electrical output from the battery. You can pick one up cheap from £3.99 upwards. You could even use a couple of wires and a bulb to check output. I'd try to look around the rectifier / regulator for voltage input / output. Check your points are clean and your coils inside the flywheel rotor. Might help you!

No Electrics!
Hi Purchased a 1978 yamaha xs250 last week. It has no electrical life at all! I changed the fuses, battery, cleaned the ignition switch, checked two earth connections that I could find, blown bulbs and general wear and corrosion however this has not rectified the problem. I'm not hot on electrics but i'm thinking that perhaps some wiring could be disconnected. Can anybody offer any suggestions or help! Jason

XS250 Electrics
Hi! Purchased an XS250 last week. Its in good condition only it has no electrical functioning at all! Fitted new fuses, battery, checked connections as best I can to my knowledge, cleaned inside of ignition switch, checked bulbs, found two earth leads and they were connected well!. Am well stuck as electrics are not a strong point with me. Can anybody help at all? Jason
