you're are both right, its not yamalube it's autolube (my mistake) i wanted to know which was the correct two stroke oil for use with this system, any ideas? Adam

i have a dt of a similar age and bog standard petrol seems to work. Although you need to be sure that the autolube system (used to mix the twostroke with the petrol is working) if in doubt then dont use the autolube and premix the petrol instead. Adam

first of all thanks for the reply, i hav already split the case, but i can't get them seperate and i dont want to use too much force and damage the alloy cases. I think its the tight fitting bearings that are giving me the trouble. Should i use a wooden wedge or something similar? Adam

does anyone know what is the best way to split a crank case? (its a vertically split crankcase if it helps) Adam
  7. i have two dt's of similar age, i find that a good squirt of a cold starting spray usually does the job (i've also found that most highly flammable aerosols have the same affect). Just squirt the spray right into the air intake and kick it over, it should start first time. Adam
  8. I disagree, i know a friend who had an 06 xt and he said that he felt it was heavily restricted by its air filter an d exhaust, and he was right, once he had replaced them he managed near 85mph red line. Adam

i found this link when searching for how to tune my own carb on my bike, very useful and accurate a worthwhile read http://www.motorcyclecarbs.com/carbs101.pdf Also the inline filter shouldn't cause the problem unless its blocked or somehow restricting the fuel flow. is the tank made of metal? if so is it rusted inside? is it is then the filter in the fuel tap may be blocked because of the rust. Hope this helps Adam

Hi i've got a yamaha dt100 that uses the yamalube sytem, i want to know what is the correct two stroke oil to be used (as in mix ratio). I've heard all sorts of figures from friends but i just want to make sure, before anyone asks what is the worst that can happen if the ratio is two low then i could risk teh engine seizing, tweo high and i'll have trouble starting. Any and all responses will be welcome Adam

I'm basically writing to kinda advertise CMM (Classic Motorcycle Mechanics) magazine. I find it a very useful and interesting magazine that i would recommend to anyone interested in restoring classic bikes. Adam

i'm really looking for something a bit faster than a ybr (i've bee told it goes like a wet fart) but i would like a four stroke because of there reliability. Also suggestions that aren't yamahas will not be ignored. Adam

hey, i'm nearly seventeen and i don't know which 125 i shud buy. Any suggestions? i have a budget of up to about £1500 Adam
  14. i disagree, with some models the kick start gear meshs with the clutch basket which meshes in turn with the crank, so it may or may not be the fault of the clutch Adam

there is one thing that i can think of, but you need a steady hand, a small drill bit, a new pilot screw and a set of damaged screw removers, here's an example: i used them before and they can be a very useful addition to your toolkit Adam

both the engine and frame numbers match, there are two numbers, one matches the number printed on the frame and the engine, and the other is printed on a seperate sticker. The VIN ( i presume vehicle identification number?) is 132717. The other number is 10r.240.07 with E11 in a circle above it, what does this number represent? Adam
