Hello to all. To start, I'm not only new to this forum, but also to motorcycling as well. My first bike here is a 1986 Virago XV700. It runs fine, but needs some work. I have two questions. First, I've noticed while researching for parts, that there are 700SS's, 700CSC's, 700CS's, etc..., does anyone know how to tell which is which, as my bike did not come with a manual? Secondly, the right side air box/filter is missing from my bike, and I know that other years and/or bikes of the same year but different CC's can be interchanged. I've been looking at Ebay as one sorce for finding a replacement amongst other options. Would anyone know what year/cc's can be used with a 86 Virago 700, or, maybe even a web sight that might offer a cross reference style search option? Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.
