Modding the TZR 50 isn't going to make it sound any better. At the end of the day it's probably just going to make it more noisy, more unreliable and remember as soon as you've modded it you have no insurance. You could get away with taking the restrictor washer out of the stock exhaust but anything else is too risky IMO. In addition, the Arrow exhaust isn't going to make much difference, they are around £170 and for that it's just going to sound more 'tinny' and the performance wouldn't be worth it. It's just going to attract more attention from the police; and if they are suspicious they will pull you over. Lets face it, who buys a 'performance sports' exhaust and keeps the restrictor in? Nobody! They know that, they aren't that stupid. It's your choice, if you want a new one, get it. Nobody knows your financial situation so if you can afford to loose a few hundred quid+; go for it! You could buy a second hand one however I've seen a few for around the £1,000 mark and some more, some less and if they go wrong you may need a engine rebuild etc so you may end up paying loads just to get it road worthy.
  2. Hi, Sorry, I should have mentioned it. I'm 16 and about to do my CBT. Thanks.

  4. Hi, Could anyone tell me which good two stroke to use? Any help would be appreciated.
  5. Hi, I've found a brand new Yamaha TZR 50, the cheapest insurance was off a motorbike comparison website. I was quoted £350 third party fire and theft and I wondered if anyone knew where I could get it any cheaper? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there, To my delight I found a Yamaha TZR 50, finally! To me, it looks clean and well looked after, no scratches on the fairing, 11,000 miles for an 04 plate. Basically, it's on eBay and my parents are worried because they don't know much about bikes and I haven't passed my CBT yet so I can't ride it (I would take it then buy it but it would be sold by then) and my 'rents say "we don't know what we're looking at." They are worried that I spend £1,000 on a bike then when they deliver it, it will be ok for a period of time then I'm stuck with £500 to get it road worthy. Typical parents, only really seeing it from their point of view, however I do understand what they're saying. I'm just a bit gutted that he will let it go for £1,100 which I can luckily afford, he'll deliver it and it's not too far away. In addition, these bikes are- hard to find, especially one close to where I live- Nottingham, good price and someone who will deliver it! Not going to find one like this again, well I don't think. Here are some pictures of it, make your own judgment! Any wise words or advise? Anything I could pass on to my parents from someone who is experienced? Any help would be appreciated.
  8. Hi, thanks for the reply! (And everyone else ) Yeah, it's either a scooter twist and go or a TZR 50, I think I'll go with the TZR 50! Anyway, I think I'm going to have to get one second hand because I don't think they make them anymore and I wouldn't think they are any out there new. Having said that, they are quite hard to get hold of, I'm in Nottingham and I can't find any at all close to where I live. I wouldn't like to pay for one and get it delivered without seeing it first. If anyone knows of anything, please give me a shout! Thanks everyone. PS. I think I'll be ok for the height, but I don't want to be stretching for the bars, what you think? I'll try and sit on one asap! Sorry if I'm going on about it, it's just that I'd be gutted if I'm too small PPS! I think I've found one close(ish) to Nottingham, TZR 50, I think the guy said he'll end the auction for a £1,000 however, the bike looks like it's been fallen off etc (as you can see!) Click on the forth picture at the bottom- is the arm bent? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/yamaha-TZR50-2003_W0...1QQcmdZViewItem I've found a clean black one, but it's in Ipswich! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2004-YAMAHA-TZR-50-B...1QQcmdZViewItem I suppose I'm not in much of a rush, but they seem quite hard to find.
  9. Hi everyone, new here. I've just turned sixteen and I'm hoping to get some sort of motorbike. I'm not too keen on the scooters and I was looking for something like a TZR 50. You may think that *oh God, here's a typical teen just looking for something to thrash about and impress his mates* No, I'm not! Would it be a good choice? I've posted a thread in the wanted section also, but- I'm in West Bridgford, Nottingham. Is there anywhere I could purchase one from? If you're selling one of know of someone who is, I'd appreciate it if someone could let me know. Thanks, Yamaha_Newbe.
