Iv still got the DT at the mo but up for sale in around 4 weeks hint hint I would keep the DT but cant afford to run 2 bikes and a car, shame cos i love that bike.

Yeah still British based in Bolton? i think any way. Yeah the older mx bikes with the rotax lump in, 604/640 and some twin shock bikes i believe.

Its a 53 plate so not actually brand new, has the dr650 free wind engine with wp shock and forks, CCM are still around but make more 'budget' small capacity bikes now with the odd exception of the flat tracker and their mx bike. I was thinking of either a Remus can as my brother has a spare or believe it or not a gsxr 1000 k2 standard can, gives performance of a race can with little noise.

Well, picked it up Sunday and its a beast absolutely love it, What do you guys think? Its a ccm 644 supermoto, if only yamaha done a reliable, fast, sporty looking 650 supermoto....

I really love the looks of these bikes and would probly have one if i could dream of giving up off roading! Enjoy

replaced the top end gasket put it back together and viola it works and pulls better than ever! Well chuffed thanks for the info guys

Your exhaust will have a bung supplied with it to bung this pipe off and tuk away under the tank.

Okay, i was just having a quick read through my manual and it says that the free play is okay between 0.2 - 0.7mm so im sure im okay and il just leave it. Waiting for a new gasket set now.

Right put my engine back together all nicely and started it. Sounds great nice amount of compression etc Took it for a ride today and got about 2mile down the road when it sounding like there was a mouse in the engine and the bike cut out, ( didnt seize thank god) walked it home and stripped it down again to find coolant on top of the piston .... shit okay, checks gasket (top one) split which has let the coolant through ... nice. Round two begins and i was looking at the bottom end bearing and noticed a little bit of excessive play so thought hmm wonder if itl be hard to strip? so my next challenge is the big end. Bring it on!

Theres a few different ways people say. Iv known people on ktm exc300's to rebuild then race next day and be fine and other people to baby it for 600miles but you will need to rev it a bit otherwise the piston will be shocked when you redline it and not be used to expanding due to the extra heat.

I bought mine brand new from a dealer on an 07 plate and have spent around £600 on extras, dep pipe, heated grips, frame guards, bash plate, hand guards ..... list goes on, iv done 14000miles on her been good as gold and would love to see around the 2k mark. Im the only owner its ever had aswell and now with a new top end its good as new again Thanks for the nice remarks by the way and im gettting back on the road soon as because its my only mode of transport and i just love being out on my bike hence a fair few miles.

Also the spark plug was fine was a nice brown/black colour, Theres not loads of sideways movement but just wanted to clarify whats allowed and whats not No up and down movement what so ever though so not looking as bad as i first thought

Bikes done around 14000miles and is the first top end pics of piston: As you can see i think it was a top end seizure that released again but im glad iv taken a look as piston has definately seen better days! Learnt a bit about a 2stroke engine and will know itl be good as new again when finished. TIA

Right iv had it all apart piston is fecked but what i wanted to ask is: Is there allowed to be any sideways action in the crank? if not my big end is gone to
