Yamaha DT125R 06 - HOW DO I MAKE IT FASTER?
Chav talk? Me? I was actually being serious but i suppose you dont have to believe me. I agree with the bigger bike thing as iv said it before and you dont realise how much more powerful a bigger bike is till you get one. So much more fun.

Yamaha DT125R 06 - HOW DO I MAKE IT FASTER?
My brother used to have a Cagiva Mito HM Plant race rep all modded up etc and had 125mph out of it but used to go through a lot of top ends.

Yamaha DT125R 06 - HOW DO I MAKE IT FASTER?
Honestly dont mess with it too much as it will affect its resale value and wont make much difference, i thought my DT was really fast when i used to ride it but its unbelievable how much faster a bigger bike is so id recomend saving for a bigger bike im so glad i did.

DT 125 R POWERVALVES
firstly you wont do 100. Secondly you want the powervalve cables done up so the cables are firm with a little bit of slack (not much) it should open and close freely aswell, if not remove and greese up. Theres not really any tuning tips but it would be a battle against performance and reliability of you do loads of mods. Do you know where the powervalve should line up? (have you had the cover off)

DT125X chain & sprocket advice
Always make sure you get a good o-ring chain or better (dont be stingy) also dont buy light weight ally sprockets from Talon or Renthal as they wont last 5mins so the 'heavier' type ones are the way to go, so to make things easy you wouldnt be doing too bad if you bought yamaha parts but i found a good set of c&s online for £70 and lasted around 6kmiles and are Tsubaki so not a bad make.

About DT125 piston rings
.... no problem

My bike XT660X
Does any one know what sort of torque these put out? Under 50bhp and weighs a bit so im guessing a fair amount?
-
swap MT-03 for XT660X
XT hands down as supermoto's are so much more fun on the road because of their 'flickability'. Both good bikes but yeah the XT for me every time

About DT125 piston rings
The writting on the rings has to face upwards and i dont think it matters which one goes top or bottom,

yamaha dt exhaust's
I cant imagine it would sound much different as most of the noise with the dep is through the header pipe as its thin metal the sound gets through a fair bit.
-
yamaha dt exhaust's
It will fit straight on as a replacement for you big one but theres no point doing it as it wont feel any different unless you change the front header pipe aswell.

cant change gear on my dt125r with thor quadrants on
Also a weeks worth of riding wore my boots in and now comfy as slippers (unless you walk in them)
-
cant change gear on my dt125r with thor quadrants on
I had the exact same problem with my Gaernes so i un bolted the gear shifter and moved it up a spline (sp) makes it soooo much easier to shift gear now. Trust me try it out.

header pipe repair
Nice one, iv never seen a before and after pic on the freezing technique, done a good job there. Cool dog by the way

99mph is that it !!
Still 99mph is alot lot faster than your dna dont you think? still fast enough for our roads and as said already the twisties are the places to be (for me any way ) just have fun! Also i think you will find any speed will be boring if you sit at it for a while on a straight road.

half and half tyres for 125 dtr
If you go down that path your back end will 'skip' out a bit if going quick round bends but you get used to it, but only use them if you will do a fair bit of laning as they arnt amazing on the road. Iv tried Goodrich crossengos which were my best on and off road. (lasted around 6000miles!) Mitas ef-06 (front) current which is lasted well Mitas c02 (rear) which rubbed a bit so wouldnt recomend so swaped for a michelin AC10 which is w@*k on the road but not too bad off but theres better.

Yamaha DT125R 06 - HOW DO I MAKE IT FASTER?
The only mod i found worth doing and is free is the cable earthing behind the speedo, the exhasut makes you acceleration a fair bit better but is expensive and thin metal so easy damagable. Im honestly glad i got my dep as all the guys i go out with have 650 supermotos etc and a bit more power is appreciated to help keep up. Dont bother touching reed valves or jets as you will be causing more work and money for nothing. Iv also been clocked by a BMW GS1200 at 85mph and with a sat nav

My nice new shiney bike! (not a yam tho...)
