100% agree with Gas Up on the supermoto front, after a while any speed in a straight line will feel slow. Im 19, 3yrs ncb and my CCM insurance was roughly £500.00. I personally dont think thats too bad especially comapred to some sports bike quotes i gathered for fun. It can also depend on where you live to the price.

Im 19 and finally ditched my restriction! Must admit feels good. Any way i started out on a Gilera DNA 50 as my parents wanted me to learn the road before anything else. Turned 17 and got myself a nice new DT125. Kept for 2 years and done my test on. Turned 19 and then got myself My CCM 644 SM (lots of fun ) and then i sold the DT few months ago. My advice is dont rush into huge CC bikes as you will probably end up hurt. It can also be fun on small CC bikes and you have all your life ahead of you to get a 'big' bike which will come round quicker than you can imagine!
  4. Been covered a fair few times already try the search
  5. Just thought id say nice bike but your comparing it to your MT? They are completly different bikes in every aspect such as the MT is definatly a more tamer engine than the SV. SV's riding style is more like a sports bike which by the sounds of things suits you more if you want to cruise at high speeds. Also iv known people to lap faster at Brands on an SV over an r6! Sounds mad but they aparantly have more 'grunt' Enjoy

Its the same engine as the xt660 which isnt as grunty as the ktm or ccm. Its FI aswell, reliable and a road bike so a complete difrent feel. Either way its a good bike but not made for enormous amount of power (could try a test ride??)
  7. +1, I thought exactly the same about the paddock stand.
  8. I never up jetted with mine although the plug was brownish and a tad oily if anything.
  9. I want! lol (R1) Such a poser machine!! good choice

Just for future reference aswell, i usually lube the chain after every ride or when i can start to hear it. Hope that makes sense, lot more noticeable on my CCM though.
  12. Why take apart the front brake?? The speedo cables housed on its own on the r/h side of the wheel? so surely just take a look at that (front wheel would have to come off) If its just the speedo cable then its a simple job and just one of those things that goes over time.
  13. Thats actually made my day glad i could help You might have a faulty speedo cable? or even a loose conection??? Take it out and have a look to see if it all looks okay behind the dash.
  14. 1 word came to mind 'wow' Nice bike, truely stunning job you've made of it aswell.
  15. Might sound stupid but its not a faulty stand switch by any chance??
  16. Iv always been told to take it easy for roughly 500miles, so no heavy accelerating or high end reving as it might seize, hth

  18. If its up then chokes on, not sure about mixture screw as never needed to adjust it sorry.
  19. Adrenalin pedstop i found were cheapest.
  20. Do you have a manual??
  21. ............... Old post
  22. You wont get much better than 75mph in 5th gear, tbh the only way youl get a better top end is change your gearing if you dont mind losing bit of acelaration or go the other way and lose some top end but it will 'lift' on you. Id hit 65mph in 5th then all the way to 85mph in 6th and 55mph would have been my 5th gear edging the powerband.
  23. DEP pipe also helps, i left the airbox lid/snorkel on and didnt re jet either and have hit 85mph many times before. I wouldnt recomend touching the powervalve unless its broken either.
  24. Around 65 - 70mph if its the same as the RE version.
  25. I also found it made a massive difference, probs the best one i did on my bike if im honest.
