Only way this could happen is petrol getting down the sides of the piston im baffled.
  2. If always heard its better to have it profesionally applied and sprayed on rather than buying a tin and doing it yourself. Depends where your from but if been recomemded these guys before:
  3. The threads also over a year old so dont count on a reply...

Itmight just be the bike struggling to turn the pv, if you do take it out to clean just make sure you lube it when you put it back in as you dont want much friction there.
  5. My bike never had a kicker but im clutching at straws in guessing a worn or missing spring of some type? Is there an exploded parts diagram in the manual to see what goes where?

If its not a blocked main jet or an extremly dirty air filter then the only other thing there is, is the pv like og said (Does seem a common thing on DT's), might just need tweaking, cleaning and re adjusting. Its a really simple engine and not alot can go wrong with them tbh.
  7. Is it not a cable operated servo at all then?? If it is then you could try adjusting them so they stop it turning? Im not completly sure how it can spin freely? Must be connected some how?

Is it spluttering as in losing revs and bogging or just not reving past a certain point?
  11. Noo problem, it kinda helped i had the same problem with mine as i didnt adjust the powervalve properly after rebuilt the engine and it felt rubbish, and the hole was miles out,I found the key to working on bikes is to be patient, have a manual, right tools and not panic. It also makes you feel good when something works Another satisfied DT owner glad i could help

No worries, just imposible to ban a bike as good as a DT any way as there would be 1000's just wasted
  15. Ryan09 replied to scram125's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
If its the powervalve the revs would just die when going into higher revs? right? Sounds like a blocked jet to me, might be worth seeing if the carb needs a clean? Thanks for the compliment blackhat

The dt was dropped last year i think and replaced with the wr125, They wont just ban every existing dt already made as thats just mad and it would mean all 2 strokes disapearing off the roads. The 2 strokes were fased out though because it was easier for maufacturers to make 4strokes and keep then within the emissions easier and cheaper plus it was said 2strokes are worse for the enviroment...
  17. I was thinking today in my lecture about this (was really boring lecture) Is there any chance you powervalve night need a clean? and/or has it been messed with in the past??
  18. Ryan09 replied to garet78's post in a topic in The Bar
    No complete rubbish.
  19. What years the bike? Mine was an 07 plate and there was a cable that went into a connector block with nothing coming out the otherside which was to be either cut and earthed or have another piece of wire coming out the connector block and then earth, I dont recognise them cables im afraid sorry.
  20. Has it had the cable behind the speedo earthed?

  22. Ryan09 replied to andy2's post in a topic in Dual Sport, Offroad Bikes
..... take that as sacrcasm. Appreciated. The two bolts are under the seat as you've already said. They bolt into the sub frame, Seems you'd of found it if you looked.
  23. Ryan09 replied to andy2's post in a topic in Dual Sport, Offroad Bikes
Once the two bolts are undone the seat just slide back and down a little and unclips from the tank.
