Which Helmet? From someone out of the saddle for 20 years
I think we posted at the same time there.lol I dont have an arai but used one on a track day and thought it was a decent helmet. Comfortable, light and pretty much silent, had no wind noise at all. At the moment i have a Uvex as it fitted nice, i liked the buckle system on it and was a decent price. Each for their own i guess but i wouldnt not buy an Arai.

I know they get paid by sponsers etc but at the end of the day im pretty sure they value their lives and if it wasnt safe or there was a safer brand they would use them. Also if they were no good why would they be so popular and such a big brand world wide? At the end of the day if it has the gold acu sticker on then it has passed all the compulsary tests they have to go through, iv read about a £100 helmet out doing a £300 helmet on the tests so price isnt always the reason to think one helmet is better than another. Just saying.

Insurance on my bike
Youd be better off just waiting if you want to save money as your current insurer might not be the cheapest for the dt. All insurers will ask for proof of no claims. Also you're supposed to cancel your old policy if you've sold the bike.

How can you say arai are shite? Im pretty sure all these racers from moto gp, wsb, bsb wouldnt wear them if they were crap... Bit of a weird thing to say imo, im guessing you've had a bad experience with one? lol I found arai's quite comfy but prefer a nice shoei mainly down to the prices.

Wr450 dual purpose help
Im pretty sure you have to have something like a rear running light or brake light and a horn at least but headlight, indicators and mirrors arnt needed on a dirt bike to be road legal but will only have a day time mot.

DT125 R Lights upgrade
I found the polisport halo to be a good choice, comes with a h4 bulb and was better than stock.

Back on a Yamaha =)
@ OG thanks, its been a while but its nice to be back on a Jap bike. @Drewpy, theres no way its going back on the trailor, we were driving down the m3 on the way to collect the bike in our neighbours land rover when the gearbox decided it had had enough and decided to let go with little warning apart from a little rattle for a couple of miles... luckily with the old landy's they have a limp mode so we were basically left with just 4th gear to get another 100 miles there then another 150 miles back with just 4th gear and a bike on the trailor!! Needless to say it was interesting, round abouts were especially sketchy!! Its also another world from suoermoto's still getting used to it.

07 DT125X Splutters
Too true, then they break it, leave it in a mess for roughly 18months and then sell it on to someone else to deal with.
-
07 DT125X Splutters
True but iv seen some random stuff on bikes recently so wouldnt be surprised and have heard of people doing this!
-
07 DT125X Splutters
Depends if its been disconnected. Or they may have loosened the cables right off so when it does turn it wont do anything, so yes you may still hear it.

2t to 4t silencer for my dt
It would work but may not run too well as exhaust are made the way they are for a reason. The bore will most probably be too big as two stroke cans tend to be quite small for back pressure.

07 DT125X Splutters
Sounds like your power valve is pinned open which is why its horrible to ride at low rpm, be worth checking. (covers both issues 2 and 3) Starting from cold may just need to get used to as i recall mine used to be a bit of a pain at times and is a bit of a nak to it so dont worry too much, i found it idled okay when i took the choke of once it started to noticeably gain revs, sometimes caused a bit of excess smoke though which is not to worry.

dt125r running a bit funny
If it struggles to idle then id check the pilot jet, the main jet sounds fine if it revs past a certain rpm. Just give the carb a good going over with compressed air or similar to remove all the crud and make sure theres no blockages in the fuel lines as fuel may have been sitting in it for some time and block it up. There isnt too much to a 2 stroke so you should be able to pin point the fault sooner. =D

Blue hand gaurds wr125r 2010 model
Acerbis rally pro or rally II are both good sets and come in loads of colors.

dt125r gear oil
I used to swear by castrol mtx when i had my dt, never gave me any problems.
-
dt125r
the front brake may be similar and may just need a bracket fab'd up but the back probably will not fit as they changed them from 05 onwards (After the first batch of DTRE's)
