I know what you mean, iv past bikes in the past with their chains flapping all over the place! How could you ride a bike with a chain so loose!
  3. Ryan09 replied to JoeS's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
Just because they might be the same brand doesnt necessarily mean they are the same product, theres a lot of variation around in terms of chains. Id recomend getting a decent o-ring chain, D.I.D are a reputable brand and you cant go wrong with them and £30 is extremely cheap for a C&S kit, im usually paying more than that just for a rear sprocket! Although £140 for a ybr chain is extortionate, id go for the £32 listing you posted, i know its cheaper but its D.I.D and i know they're a good make. Iv also had JT sprockets in the past and had no trouble.

I had my dt for a good 3 years and put nearly 16,000 miles on it, with the speedo wire earthed amongst other mods and had no problems like this. The bike was bullet proof imo and just needed general maintenance. Sounds a bit odd to me, was it running okay before you took it in?

You dont have to spend a fortune to have a bigger bike, from browsing the market most 125s are dearer than bigger bikes anyway. Light wheels sound expensive to me.

I understand all that but its just a bit of common sense imo, its one of those things you were probably told whilst doing your cbt.. I know it doesnt look great but its just one of those things, you cant see them whilst riding.

I dont know why you felt the need to tell us youre going to ride around with no L plates on? As already said, do your test.

Iv got some autoglym visor cleaner stuff, works pretty well. Smells a bit like window cleaner though...
  12. I tried a mitas co2 on mine and it was a 120/90/18 and it rubbed on the crap flap! Also raised the seat height by a noticeable amount. I found for good off road tyres you couldnt go wrong with the BF Goodrich Crossengos but they seem pretty hard to find now days, the mich ac10 wasnt too bad either for the rear. For the front i found a mitas ef-08 was my preffered choice but i did do a lot of laning and the tyres meant the bike wasnt great on the road.
  13. Obviously i was on about one that had a big bore kit on.. But yeah your right it is....

Or get a bigger bike and save your money?

That isnt a drc tail light on my dt by the way, it was an acerbis one but it would take a bit of modifying to get any universal enduro type tail light to fit unless you go for the R&G one which looks like a straight bolt on. With regards to the bars, i done a heck of a lot of green laning and threw that bike at the scenary a few times and had a spill on the road once (hit ice) the only damage was the tank, the bars were fine. Drc edge 2: R&G: http://www.rg-racing.com/browseBike/Yamaha/DT125R/All_Years/LP0055BK.aspx The R&G definitely looks a straight forward bolt on to me.

Was an interesting angle i admit but it done the job. Id recomend the drc edge 2 tail light if youre to go for one, as for renthal bars i couldnt see the point.

What bulb does the ybr take? Its probably a h4 or something, as long as you bought a h4 for example youd be fine.
  18. The can he has might not of come with db killer. it might be a race can.
  19. Looks like he was late for his own funeral.
  20. make a baffle out of perforated tube and bolt it in your can? Or theres the simple circlip and washer trick.

I know what you mean about the search, its hard to find things about the r6 as its only 2 characters and isnt long enough.. =(

i used to use castrol tts, fully synthetic stuff from halfords and castrol mt for the gearbox. Never had any issues, i always made sure i ran it with decent fully synth oil.
  23. okay if so then a 19 front will be too much, id say just try the rear one first.

Go for the drc edge 2 tail light, i used to have one on my old bike and it looks really tidy.
