Well to be fair I have never owned a 650 Drag... but can they realy cruise at 95... my 1300 can, and with a screen and lowers I can smoke at th same time :-)
  2. Hi I have used Bill Smith for some OEM parts... http://www.billsmithmotors.co.uk/ they gave me good service, not sure if they ship outside UK though Stu

I thought we had hijacked the xvs 250 for long enough to start another one! Any of you guys belong to clubs? I'm a new member of the VSOC club and have been discussing the merits of owners clubs Vs "none affiliated” clubs with TaskMaster. I also belong to TVAM and am just about to take my advanced test, I can thoroughly recommend it, I came back to biking after a ten year lay off and its amazing what you forget... Also both clubs have loads of ride outs and its good to see what other guys have done there bikes Stu

Bloody hell, you guys must have realy fallen out.... same day almost same venue.... maybe I could join both clubs I'm not sure if we will go to C12 or Vale... is Vale mostly sport or curisers?

Maybe your right, perhaps I'll take a trip to the "Vale"... mind u at the moment I think it might be better to go by boat! How do you find your Star? I love mine, but its costing me a fortune in shinny bits to bolt on

Yep maybe, as I said to new to know the history, re the owners club, well I can sort of see your point, but for me, I'm more interested in having a good time and a few ride outs with like minded people, whatever bike they ride... Not to " Express my support that my bike brand is the best ever"... frankly if I had the cash I would have a whole rack of bikes, and although my Yammy would be in there, I'm sure I would find space for a bit of Italian exotica and maybe even a Harley

Well live and learn.... Ive only been there a short time, but they seem OK to me... I have noticed that a few of the guys dont have Yams...my wife has a Suzuki, so I guess I'm in a glass house :-) I also am doing the TVAM thing as well, both clubs seem to have loads of ride outs, and stuff going on... I assume you belong to the Vale club?

Hi There, Have you looked at the Viagro Star Owners club site http://www.vsoc.org.uk/index2.html They have a "for sale" section there is normally a few bikes that may suit you... Also the club is not a bad place to join other Star owners, I belong to the Thames Valley Vultures, which are a nice bunch of people, loads of local knowledge, and loads of rides out which are good fun. I can thoroughly recommend them Stu

I got mine from Custom Cruisers http://www.customcruisers.com/custom2005/c...arget=d128.html Its made by HCA Frankly its not as good as the standard OEM one, you can download the OEM catalogue from the Yamaha site, there is loads on there for the 1300a... The OEM stuff all seems very good quality, I had a hawk light bar, but sent it back and got the OEM.... much much better. There’s loads of stuff on e bay for the 1300

  12. Hi Ya, I'm in the same boat I sent a request to Corbin and got this back Battistinis are a major distributor of Corbin products in the U.K. and Europe http://www.battistinis.co.uk/ The price of part number – Y-VS13-7-S (Classic solo seat to fit an ’08 V-Star 1300) is £420. This seat will not fit with the stock Yamaha passenger seat, unfortunately. The price of part number – 02-S (standard ‘Ovalbac’ backrest) is £198. Delivery is £12.05. I would echo the comments re E bay, and would add, that it took me some time to get the search correct.... if you seach on v star 1300 you get loads and loads of kit, if you search on Yamaha Midnight Star you only get a few UK and German hits. I'm not sure how long you have had your 1300, but I was going to go down the Corbin route, till I got some feedback on another forum, re time it takes to "break the seat in"... I have a couple of thousand miles on mine and its alot better, or maybe my bums just got used to it :-) Since I have got mine, I have added OEM light bar, OEM Screen and OEM hard bags ( all from e bay ) as well as some hawk rear foot boards ( which I think are much better than OEM ) and a Sissy bar from HAl ( which was rubbish and have taken off ) new grips, and horn. Also drilled out the standard exhaust and it sounds much better. Oh and I fitted some red leds and a set of strobe lights behind the dummy cover on the RHS This month its likely to be the fender rack! Bloody things costs me a fortune :-) Hope you are enjoying yours! Stu

Hi Ya, Nope if I'm honest, I wouldn't have said it made any difference to either fuel or performace... expect I rev up at the lights a bit more to hear the growl I also tried taking of the air box cover and running with the air filter exposed... again this made an even better sound, and maybe made it run a tiny bit smoother, but again it could just have been my imagination! For know I'm not drilling I also have seen the Cobra posts, and hey maybe it will give you a few more horses and maybe a few more miles to the gallon, but hey, I don't need to go any faster, and as for economy, even with petrol prices as high as they are, I guess you would need to do many 1000's of miles to recoup the cost. So I'm spending my cash of shiny bits, the wife thinks I'm mad so far I have a screen, a sissy bar rack and radiator cover... I just fitted a pair of pace car strobes under the fake cover on the LHS, so now I have a red flash emitting in between the cyliders.... I'm really to old but what the hell All the best Stu

Hi Guys, Any of you "moded" the exhaust?.... I saw on another forum about drilling out the center section to get some more noise. I was very apprehensive about taking a drill to my brand new bike, but yesterday I took a chance and drilled away! What a difference, not offensive but much better than the standard sound, a nice deep rumble, with a bit of a bark when you open her up. I can thoroughly recommend it! 32mm hole saw and an 300mm extension, five minutes with a drill, an hey presto! I'm off for a ride! Stu

asuquo, re air box, its just a case of taking it off and drilling loads (80+) small holes in the back of the air box... Havent tried it myself, I thought I might wait till its had it 600 mile service, and frankly like you, I'm not sure I need more power! What I do need is more noise, and a screen, not sure they add to the looks much, but my old arms are getting a bit stiff! All the best Stu
  16. Stu_B replied to Stu_B's post in a topic in Yamaha Customs
Hi asuquo, thanks for the reply, looks like I need to search ebay! sounds like you got a real bargin. Have you heard about the air box mod, that supposed to help with extra power?... Stu

Hi All, I'm a newbie here as well as a newbie owner... just brought a XVS Midnight Star 1300. I'm V pleased with the bike, but I would like to fit a new exhaust, not realy interested in more performace, just more noise! :-) I have seen the Corba range advertised and was wondering if anyone had any experience of them. From the adverts it seems I also need a Fi2000R to tune the injectors... Again would love some feedback Thanks in anticipation Stu
