Fuel problem
I've been renovating my XJ600 and at the point where it's all connected and ready to go. I tried starting it but there's no fuel getting through to the carbs. I thought it was a vacuum fuel pump problem but I've managed to replace this with an electric pump. Now I'm thinking it's the fuel tap but not sure why it's stopped working. There doesn't appear to be much fuel getting to the fuel filter. The vacuum pipe is connected correctly. Anymore ideas please?

Engine removal
Hi, Might seem a bit of a daft question but could someone with an XJ600 Divvy have a look at the rear engine mounting bolt and let me know if there is a bolt head on the left hand side of the mounting rod. I think mines been sheared off somehow. Cheers.

Great looking bike. I was wondering what you used to paint the caliper pots.

Refurbishing exhaust box
South Derbyshire. On the border with Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. Yes, I was hoping for some useful advice from this forum but there you go. You have to take the bad with good I guess. Have you any suggestions. I just felt that the quotes I am getting are around hundred quid more than I was expecting. Also I'm trying to get the engine out so I can get the frame resprayed but can't remove the bottom mounting bolt. It doesn't explain it well in the manual but I assume there should be a bolt head on one end but this is missing. I just need confirmation really so I can try a different way of getting it out. Cheers

Refurbishing exhaust box
Thanks for your advice. I gave it a try but it didn't stand up to the British weather I'm affraid. Went all soggy and limp and was not much use to man nor beast. A bit like your take on things really.

XJ600 Engine removal
Hi all, I've been trying to remove the engine on my Divvy today. All went well until I came to removing the bottom mounting nut. It doesn't explain it well in my manual but I assume it is a long bolt that threads through the bottom part of the engine mounting with a nut on the right han side. The nut came off easily enough but do you think I can shift the rod/bolt. If I've assumed correctly the head of the bolt is missing on my bike for some reason. Could have been sheared off I guess. If this is the case has anyone got a suggestion on how I can get it out. Cheers, Spuggy

Refurbishing exhaust box
Hi, I'm new at refurbishing motorbikes but would like to give my XJ600 a face lift. I want to start with the twin exhaust cans as they are looking a bit rusty in places. Should I be looking to get them chrome plated or are there other, and perhaps cheaper, alternatives. I've had a quote from an electroplating company which was £250. Regards, Spuggy
