So you say Castrol would be better suited for my bike. I had previously owned a CBR600 1994 F2 Supersport and used the same oil I use for this bike but I tried the Castrol oil in that bike and it made the engine more noiser and sluggish than usual.

First up, what a great site!! Now here we go (takes a breath).... I have a 1995 YZF750R with K&N,Dyno'd and fitted with front R1 Calipers. Engine had a full rebuild, well cleaned...I was bored and stripped down full engine, clean every part and put back together. I have owned the bike for a few months but what I have noticed is that. It uses a lot of oil is this normal, as I stay in Glasgow and went to Blackpool for the weekend, oil was ok when I left home on the way back the red light came on needing oil..I made it to the last services on the M6 for a top up. Had to put in the Castrol 4T Pro to get it started, synthetic crap ( I use the Valvoline 4T 10w-40). I tried 1 bottle first but it was blowing black smoke and engine cut out, then I added another bottle and it started. I feel 2 bottles was a lot of oil, as I was on my own I was trying to judge the oil I was putting in. When I got home I got my mate to sit on the bike so that I could check the level, its right at the top of the level glass, so may need to drain a bit out to get to the marker. So is this normal for this oil consumption? and whats the best oil for this bike to use. Also is there anyone who knows where I could get a rear tail light Clear Led for this bike. Thanks!

Hi can anyone tell me what the idle adjustment speed should be set at (with the screw that you can tweak) Also does anyone know if there is a custom tail light that will fit or adapt to this bike. Thanks in advance

Hi i just purchased a YZF 750 R 1995. 1st up let me say what a great site ...as I am new to biking I would like to ask your opinion on certain things. 1.Is there a replacement tail light I could use to change the standard one as an l.e.d? 2.How easy is it to change the rear section to the R6 tail section? 3.Sometimes when I pull away, then go into second sometimes the engine dies and then starts with no problems and is ok? 4.Where can i get the decals if need be for this bike if anything happens to them? 5.What other mirrors could I use for this bike as i think the standard ones are a bit in the big side?
