Yeah tried that.... Its just that he was considering the convertibars but theres no real clearance on the sides of the fairings, So now were looking into modding the forks or at the top just under the yoke for a bit more height. Anyone tried this, if so info would be nice....

Is it possible to raise the front end up on an R1 without messing around with the fork adjusters at the top of the yoke. my mate is 6'2" and is sore on arms and back, is there away to fix this, seen convertibars but no use. Thanks
  4. Whats the best oil for my YZF 750 R as its coming up for that time again... Hi-Flo or K&N Filter ? Silkolene or Yamalube? Any help would be appreciated? Thanks.

Tick is around cylinder head area yes, not sure if its cause I changed the spark plug caps or not, as bike idles and is better at pulling away than before. Over 4K revs its rough...cant get by 65 mph... And if bike is left standing and just revs its ok...but slower looking without exup..does that make sense?

Right If you havent read my previous posts, heres a brief overview..... Carbs recently rebalanced along with valves refitted (in Garage for 5 weeks...long story) Got bike back...still having issues...took back to Garage, rebalanced carbs... Had bike for a week...it cut out..sent back to Garage. They adjusted the mixture to be a little bit richer..seems ok, but told me it may need dyno'd. Idles up and down still and bogs down after 120 mph... Due to load bearing or something when setting up....as they say! Anyway... When I got bike back from the last visit from Garage, I changed HT leads, stripped bike and gave it a good clean... Now!.. When bike starts on the button it STARTS ...better than before and no idle jumps on revs...just small ticking.. So I took it for a spin up and down the motorway, cant get above 65 mph now, feels like carbs are fully opened and really grinding to a halt. Had a look at it when I got back home, exup cable snapped at the bottom. Would this cause the 65mph issue, is it slowing me down as when I reach around 4K revs it struggles. Also, I know its a diffreent topic but where can I get a set of graphics for my fairing, not the text but the lines for the YZF 750 R version (burgundy to red wavy line)

Right going back to garage on Monday morning regarding the issue with the idling and popping noises... Above 60 + ...feels like bike is bogging down. One of my mates say it could be 1 of 3 things.... 1. Cam Timing 2. Air leak 3. Re-balance of carbs If its any of these ..how long should this take for a garage, as I am going up first thing and not leaving till its done.
  10. EwOkIE replied to EwOkIE's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
Just in from taking the bike out for a run, started without any probs. Up to 60mph and around 4 thou revs all ok but when above or opening throttle up it's not hesitating as such, like runing on 3 cylinders. Is this due to the carbs incorrectly balanced. Then when Idling at traffic lights, I hear like a tinking noise as in video. Anyone stay in Glasgow that knows a better place for carbs to get done as I think the garage I went to did a good job on valves but crap on the carbs.
  11. EwOkIE replied to EwOkIE's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
Sorry for quality of video, best I could do. You can just hear the idle going up and down.
  12. EwOkIE replied to EwOkIE's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
Right I have uploaded a quick video of the problem I am getting, dont know if you can hear the idle issue .... YAMAHA IDLE PROBLEM VID 2nd Clip Video might not be processed as yet so please be patient... Thanks, if anyone knows whats causing this.

Bike is just coming up for 26K Had previously new jets and emulsion tubes fitted from Factory Pro..about 4 months ago. Thats why after getting the above fitted I wanted the engine spot on, should have left it alone!...It struggled up to 4K revs and then was like a bat out of hell...it flew like fu**!
  14. EwOkIE replied to EwOkIE's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
Got bike back .... seems spot on for now!!!!...dont trust garages.. robbin bast(bleeps)s!!! Slight idle jump up and down..when idling and when bike is opened up on the motorway it struggles? Called them again and they say give it 500 miles till the engine breaks in again, as everything was stripped. Is this true? Apart from that it pulls better and above 60 it struggles, only when sharply opening the throttle, when I do it easily and tenderly its ok ...

Hi and thanks for the reply, Called garage this morning, they state that the vacumn hose was twisted or bent under the tank, and something to do when it heats up or something ..... As to the backfire or poor throttle response they say they have cured it, hope so!. When it stopped running I changed the end can on it and when the bike returned to the garage, one of the guys said it was cause of the end can I put on ????..idiots! Call them on Monday and should get it back later on that day. Let you guys know....

Right where to start.... If you dont remember this post then I will start again.... I recently put my bike into a garage to get my carbs balanced...cost £65.00 (needed plugs) ... Was told when I picked the bike up that the compression was low and the valves needed done... Soooo after a long thought and thinking will I keep the bike, i decided to go for it.... Sent the bike back in 5 weeks ago, cost £422!!! I got the bike back yesterday morning... Rode it back from garage to my house (7-8 miles) but getting a misfire and like ...how to say this, when you open up throttle it feels like its struggling. So I thought it just needs to be treated gently and give it time as the garage says give it 500 miles for the valves to seat properly... so next morning tried to start it ..it starts let it sit for a few mins then was going to fill it up with fuel, got to the corner of my street and it died!!!! Tried to start...nothing!..tried bump start ..nothing!!! Phoned the garage, guy came out and took bike back to garage. Am I getting ripped off, any help would be appreciated.

Anyone know or have a Speedo Drive for my bike as its completely fu(bleep)ed!! Tried the famous fleabay and nothing showing, and I aint paying £78 for a new one. Any help or info would be appreciated. Thanks YAMAHA YZF 750 R 1995/6
  19. Can I not get a break When out for a quick blast on my bike (4 hrs) everything went superb......got home...seen to the missus Washed bike(with jet wash) and now its like a sack of potatoes...I left it for a few hours then tried it again..still the same between 1100-2500 revs...or when I open throttle up !!!
  20. EwOkIE replied to EwOkIE's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
How do i go about trying to do this to the speedo drive? Is there any info on this. (as in taking it apart)
  21. EwOkIE posted a post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
My mate just bought exact same bike same as mine, but the only fault we can find is that the speedo guage goes up and down, not steady?.. looked at the cable all seems fine, checked to see if there where any blockages, all's well! Just when you go, it goes up and down --------- Just noticed, that where the connection is made at front wheel, the part which screws in there is a small rubber washer and which looks like there is a (hard to explain) a sleeve for the cable thingy ??? does that make sense? Cant compare next to mind, coz the missus dropped me off and Im 30 miles from my bike
  22. The way I do the spark plugs : Loosen bottom bellypan, then take of the 2 side panels. Loosen the two top radiator mounts and carefullt take them out, and just unscrew the bottom ones a bit and pull radiator forward. Then your at them. I prefer the iridium plugs off ebay for £30.
  23. No I dont have a haynes manual just check out this site for parts (codes): Motorcycle Parts Yeah I agree 1150-75 is better for idling, and the bikes are bit noisy at startup for a few mins (like running with no oil) Just check oil level every so often as they tend to use a lot!! only bad thing with these bikes. Send me a copy of the faults if you can. Thanks.

Tried many tyres for my bike, I prefer Michelin pilot Road 2 - superb for me! Heat up pretty quick in the cold and pretty grippy in the wet on cornering. I am around 5-8" and 10 stone
  25. Prefer tickover at round about 1150-75 mark, feels as though engines a bit racey at 1200. Yeah my bikes like that. Feels as though when it starts in the morning, when you open up throttle it nearly dies on you. Need to leave for a few mins till it warms (like running on the edge of 3 cylinders )
