Thanks again Sean, I've had a closer look at the carbs today and one of the screws appears to be a "shear Head" screw. I guess the only option for that one is the "vicegrips"?

Yes Sean, it is the diaphragm covers, Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a try. Just hope the screws are high tensile!

I'm going to strip down my V Max carbs as they need cleaning. Anybody got any advice on getting the vacuum chamber screws out cos they're locktited.
