Ya, the ignition barrel was replaced. Each time they replaced either the keys, ignition, or the ecu, they have to replace all three at the same time as they will only work with each other. At least that's what I gather from Yamaha. .

Same as you, I love my R1, it was the bike I always wanted, but didn't realize that this would come with the bike. .

As the title says, I have had a rather hard time dealing with Yamaha-Canada support concerning an issue with my 2005 Yamaha R1 that has been on going for close to three years. I have been patient with Yamaha-Canada too long and have done everything I can to solve this issue without going completely public.
