Drain Plug???
Ok...I am quite flustered here...I have a manual...but I dont know for sure where to find the oil drain plug on this 88 FZ600... I have found a plug on either side of the engine...it takes an allen-type wrench....some oil came out....but....maybe just a cup....there must be more in there....I can see some of it grinning at me thru that window....I am also worried that the crazy canuck who owned it before may have run it with low oil..... any help...pics...descriptions would be great thanks fellows Ciao

Jetting troubles
I have done it this time...grrrrr...I was attempting to jet my 88 yamaha fz600....one of the steps was to drill the slide hole a little bit large with a provided drill bit.....well...I didnt see that there was more than one bit in the package....you guessed it....I used the bigger size.... How will this affect my carbs?...I am assuming that I will need to replace the vacuum slide (slide diaphram)..with a stock one...and drill the slide hole with the proper bit.... Thing is...I cant seem to find any of this parts or carbs on ebay....are there any other bikes out there that use this carb?...do you think I should be able to snag the vacuum slide off of it? Thanks guys

Carbon Fibre fairings
Keep the updates coming...this is really cool....is this our answer to american custom chopper projects? ...

87 FZ600
you might want to try ebay for those fairings...if not, air-tech makes some aftermarket ones...I believe it was about 500 USD for all the fairings new when I called they gave me these prices: Upper cowl = 131 Mid left and right = 62 each Lower left and right = 103 each Rear Cowl (this goes over the rear seat with velcro) = 48 all of this is in USD you might be able to try other sources as well...but they are all about the same price if you are running the pod filters, I might suggest that you pick up a K&N jet kit...on ebay K&N is flogging the stage1&3 kits for about 35 USD (which is a remarkable deal)...this should take the guess work out of finding the right jet (seeing K&N makes those filters).... I also picked up a Jardine aftermarket pipe...they have them on ebay as well granted...I have just gotten these things and I havent installed them yet (its winter where I live)...when I do I will post my experiences, but I believe that it should make the bike run sweet!! are you in the states?

Jardine Slip ons...anyone use them?

YAMAHA FZ600 TUNE UP!
what year is your bike?....I just got a K&N stage 1 and 3 jet kit from ebay for 35 USD ....it is a really good deal there is also a Jardine Slip on exhaust for 85 USD mine is 1988.... those thingfs should improve BHP 5-10% for stage 1... maybe 15% for stage 3 ... you will need those pod airfilters though

88 FZ600

I live near Boston...so this is something that I will do in the winter when I am not riding... I am getting near fairings for it...and I intend to paint it....
