  1. Yeah Mike, it seemed impossible until I realised you have to take up a paid membership to get the Attach Files option. I actually didn't even realise there was such a thing as the paid membership until this - maybe it was just me not paying attention, or maybe I missed something. TBH I really don't mind this, it's much better than paying a hosting service and it costs little enough that I think it's very worthwhile. Now I find posting photo's a piece of cake - hence I've put a few up There were people from all sides of the Armed Forces there, as well as Police, Fire and Ambulance personnel. It was a really moving day. I thought this was a stunning piece of work for a jacket and just had to get a decent photo of it. It's a really visual reminder of the Falklands conflict.

  2. And a few more photos - this time from the "Ride To The Wall" event, at the National Memorial Arboretum, back at the start of October - truly one of the most moving experiences of my life. Over 8,000 people, on 6,000 bikes, all joined together in remembrance of those who have lost their lives in the Armed Forces and Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Ambulance etc) since the end of WW2, and in support of their families, friends and comrades. I joined with a couple of mates at Leicester Forest Services on the M1 for one of the 11 group ride-in's.

  4. Now that I've sorted myself out (didn't realise I had to become a member to get the "attach" option), here's a couple of pics of me and the FJ from a ride out a couple of weeks ago.

  5. I'll be starting work on my 1981 RD200 soon after Christmas and it hasn't been started since around 1990. Has anyone any top tips for getting it to start without damaging anything? The only engine prep so far has been to drop half a capful of Marvel Mystery Oil into the cylinders to free the rings. The insides of the fuel tank were atrocious. The fuel hadn't been drained and there was a lot of rust in there. The tank was filled with white vinegar and left for 10 days and now its looking pretty clean and no leaks, but the first start will be using a portable tank. The bike was garaged and is in pretty good condition, accept for some light rusting in a few places on the frame. The other concern I also have is the condition that rubber seals will be in after this length of time. Any advice would be much appreciated.

  6. The first thing you should know about this class of bikes is that they are made to be exactly what you need them to be. If you're looking for a bike that can climb or cruise, then the SR125 is great at that. It perfectly balances power and efficiency, yet doesn't sacrifice weight on either end. What it does sacrifice is handling, but given the fact that most of these bikes will be used aggressively all around town or on light trails make this more than an acceptable compromise. Seating position on this bike improves comfort dramatically over other similar offerings considering the size and power the engine provides regardless of your weight distribution amongst riders (more if there's more) given its compact proportions
