Posted May 11, 200816 yr hi guys ive recently fitted a new piston and rings on my dtr 125 and everythink was fine let it go through 2 tanks of petrol in my garden to help bed the piston in. so today i go to do the same but it just wont tick over, the engine will start but give 1 long high rev and then dies, and iff i do manage to get it to tick over and i adjust the tick over screw or touch the throttle it dies on me, i have cleaned the carb through out and checked the ful line from tank to carb. also i noticed when i turn the pertol tap to on or res it starts to come out of the overflow pipe. am i looking at a dodgy float or even a new carb, i have not changed the plug cos i bought a new 1 about a wk ago but i will do tomorrow just incase ne suggestions on sorting this would be appreciated thanx
May 11, 200816 yr could be dirt in the float bowl causing the needle to stick, i had this problem on my ke100 so it would be worth stripping the carb and giving it a good clean
