Hi please someone tell me I'm missing something obvious being a newbie!

In the owners manual and Yamaha website the fuel capacity of the YBR tank is listed as 12 litres, so how come when i fill it up the needle is on full after about 7-8 litres of fuel is in?

Cannot figure this one out unless it has a huge reserve tank which it doesnt,

they do have a big reserve.

It the same with my FZ6 usally put 16 litres! 20 litre tank thou
