I'm on the verge of buying an 07 R1 which was stolen, but now recovered, and the insurance company has paid out , the bilke has some cosmetic damage but nothing major and there are a few parts missing, but my main concern is the locks have been smashed and only broken bits remain, as well as the top yokes missing, but the general condition of the bike is very good and clean, with 1800 miles showing, i'm thinking the lock set with the chip in the key are going to be my main problem, can anyone give me a replacement cost or what path to follow in repairing it, any ideas on what sort of price would be good to pay the insurer, its been a few years since my last rebuild , but this seems to be a good oppertunity, or is it ? any help and advise would be greatfully recieved..
