Hi yall - this is my first post - my first bike for that matter. I remember all my friends brothers having the old enduros when I was a kid so I went out and got maself one.

When I got it it ran enough for me to buy it. I was naive - it had little compression, the muffler wasn't screwed on all the way and the spark was gapped very wrong. Long story short - this week, I did a ring job, head gasket, cylinder gasket, packing gasket, new reed valve assembly, air filter, rebuilt the carb... Gear oil change, exhaust seal. That should be it. I still have little torque and she sounds scratchy at 40+ mph, which isn't far from my peak speed. What gives?!?! These bikes used to be so torquey and quick. Any ideas my new friends??? I'm pretty good at this engine fixing thing - s'long as someone helps explain.

Many thanks in advance.....
