January 29, 200421 yr i just picked my exhaust up its nice shining chrome taking it to the shop to get dent sorted saturday cant wait
February 3, 200421 yr Does anybody remember that piston patched together with liquid metal and copper wire bits? It was on the aircooled forum sometime last year. That was the only thing I've seen to top this.
February 3, 200421 yr my mate let me borrow his nissan pulsar gtir today that is a fecking animal tuned to do 178mph 0-60 4.1 secs and 473 bhp with a t78 turbo {hybrid} and a supercharger kit it gets mag features all the time its the 3rd recorded fastest pulsar in the uk he had nos but it just didnt need it so it was taken off standard interior stereo and bodywork it has a spax suspension and wolfrace 17 inch alloys its truly amazing there are loads of other mods on it but i cant remember what else there is i was on my way back from work and some guy in a bmw m3 overtook me and give me the wanker sighn so i took it down to 3rd gear blipped the throttle and left him standing why do bmw drivers think they are something special especially proved him wrong a new m3 against a 1991 h reg nissan he thought he was clever the pulsar is a rapid little hatchback with a 2.0 turbo 4 wheel drive with a supercharger i will admit it that pulsar scared the fuck out of me but i enjoyed it what an experience i will have to get ome soon i love em
February 3, 200421 yr they're cool cars pulsars. two of my mates have them(one owns an escort cossie along with the pulsar  ) well quick motors but 178mph quick :? not sure about that. you got any pics of it mozzy?, or what magazine has it been in?. i prob have it somewhere
February 3, 200421 yr Admin Yeah they cant go that fast, i know as my mate had one and spent a lot of money to try and keep up with my supra  the max possible speed on standard wheels at 7.5k Max rmp due to rev limiter is about 160mph so even with 17" wheels would only be about 2-3mph more. Even if you done some serious internal engine modifications to add another 1000rpm 8.5k you would still be struggling to reach 175, and of course you would need some serious power because of the drivetrain loss on a 4x4 and to overcome air resistance to reach the redline.
February 4, 200421 yr trust me its been dynoed all the bollox this is one thing im not going to argue about because i have been in the passanger seat whilst richard was doing 165mph and u just have to be in it to believe it its like another guy on a dvd i got who has the fastest one in the world 192mph heres spec for richards 178 turbo [like the size of a dinner plate lol] dragon forged pistos gas flowed head big valves some japanese supercharger twin dump valves forge front mounted intercoller hks exhaust system blitz turbo timer 22psi of boost pipercross cams titanium springs powermax crank power boost valve powermax con rods and gudgoen pins mritz electronic ignition system iridum plugs and upgrade leads thats just some of the mods and believe me i helped do alot of the work to it its cost him just over 40k on the engine alone trust me this car is fast ive been on the cruising scene for years and ive seen faster cars like gary with the skyline 752 bhp 192 mph and what about the guy in some of the car mags a couple of months who had a feisa turbo tuned with all the bits and topped out at 185mph which is faster than the pulsar i am not even going to argue with ne1 cause i know im right this time
February 4, 200421 yr well if we are going by clock speed, in that case, my 50cc almost standard crosser bike can do 70mph with ease and 75 down a hill
February 4, 200421 yr Admin Mozzy mate im not picking on you, but your mate is lying. i know exactly what has to be done to cars to get that kind of speed your talking about your talking Ferrari and 911 Turbo speed, out of a 2 litre. Thats 237 bhp per litre thats the same as motogp bike which has had millions spent on development. Formula one cars (3ltr) are about 300 bhp / litre and they rev up to 18k!! A Ferrari Enzo (6ltr) is only 110bhp per litre so if your telling me that he can get 237 bhp per litre on such a small engine he would be working for a f1 race team. How does you mate think he can do 178mph, was it by the clock, or by a dyno. As these would be the only way it was capable of it mate.
February 4, 200421 yr Moderator Yeah....I'd like to see this motor with a Turbo AND a Supercharger :?:  Isn't that a bit of a conflict of Interest?......that intake must be a nightmare to work on!
February 4, 200421 yr Admin With some trick work to the manifold and an electric wastegate is possible as ive seen it on a drag car, but how the hell you would fit both in a nissan sunny engine compartment
February 4, 200421 yr id be interested to know if thats dynoed or not, cus i know if my bike was dynoed it wud b around the 50-55mph mark not 70-75mph!!
February 4, 200421 yr heres the pulsar pictures http://groups.msn.com/yammydtr125/shoebox....hoto&PhotoID=16 http://groups.msn.com/yammydtr125/shoebox....hoto&PhotoID=22 http://groups.msn.com/yammydtr125/shoebox....hoto&PhotoID=23 http://groups.msn.com/yammydtr125/shoebox....hoto&PhotoID=24 http://groups.msn.com/yammydtr125/shoebox....hoto&PhotoID=25 http://groups.msn.com/yammydtr125/shoebox....hoto&PhotoID=26 http://groups.msn.com/yammydtr125/shoebox....hoto&PhotoID=28 enjoy (An Un-Moderated forum to speak your mind and give it LARGE ! February 4, 200421 yr listen i dont care what anyone says ive been working on cars since i was 13 and weve done some mad projects and alex supras aint all that special not blowing my own trumpet but ive know a fucking lot about cars im a city and guilds level 123 mechanic ive helped working on cars for redline magazine they are based up the road in bath ring them and ask them they know theyve featured it and drive it at castle coombe. richards brother owns castle st motorsport in weston super mare and does alot of castle coombes personal track cars and he knows what to do lets face facts he made a twin turbo conversion for a sierra xr4x4 2 litre twin cam he dabbles in everything richard is a serious petrol head and he said he is more than willing to have a quick race with any of u trust me when it comes to cars i know what im on about
February 5, 200421 yr Admin Hahaha was that you at work in the van? Yeah i agree mate supras arnt all that, but bloody thirsty hence why i sold it, 12-16gallan  Show us some pics of the engine then we can see if it has a supercharger and turbo, also we will be able to see the manifolds which will show if it has them both. We can also see if it has the standard gearbox as they standard gearbox on redline is only 160mph, we may also be able to see the injectors and fuel pump of course to get 500bhp you couldnt do that on standard fueling. I could go on all day about this as like i said my mate spent serious money on his and still was not as quick as my supra which didnt do 180mph and was a bigger engine, more capable box, and bigger turbo.... To be honest mate i really dont even believe its supercharged, as the turbo comes off the manifold, a supercharger would have to mechanically dricven off something ie the end of crank, etc and where the hell is there room for one in a sunny... Please post some pics and prove me wrong
February 5, 200421 yr Admin Hey just found my printout from my old supra when it was rollered, i did get a better power run the second time, after i found out the intercooler was leaking. Post your mates one as this will show us, as he must of had his car rollered or he wouldnt know the power output, also you cant cheat one, as you will know being a car mechanic, bhp is a calculation of torque times rpm divided by 5252. So you can see if someone has messed with the graph
February 5, 200421 yr alex engine size means nothing nowadays poimt being a 1.6 mondeo is quicker and has same top speed as a 2.0 mondeo i dont need to prove nothing to any 1 i know its true yes thats me in me corsa vanÂ
