Hello people,

I'm new on here, so Hi to everyone.

I have some questions if anyone can help please, while doing a restoration of my FZ750

First of all I have two bikes one is a G'Reg 89/90 and the other is an H'Reg 90/91.

Anyway the H Reg has an all together nicer frame/switch gear etc, but the previous owner had a problem with the engine. Although he was going to sell it without the engine, he thought for the sake of it he would purchase another engine and install it before selling it. He told me that in the rush he didn't notice that it was a twin sensor engine. So I thought while I'm building the original bik I would use this one as a donor for the frame etc. As the G Reg one has the single sensor engine for the CDI unit and runs well. So the 1st question is what CDI Unit would I need for the twin sensor engine if I wanted to fit it into the older bikes frame?

Also the older bike has the 4 pot brake calipers installed although a piston is needed, can I fit these to the newer bike that has the twin pot calipers and if so where can I get replacement pistons or what other yam bike could I scavenge this units off, I'm an avid user of Ebay you see.

Anyway thats it for now,

Thanks in advance.

Keith

I am not sure about the movement from single pickup to dual as I have only done it the other way around. You could probably use one for the Fazer/FZX engine since it was dual pickup.

The older bike probably has different bolt hole spacing but not sure on that either. I have adapters for 6 piston huyabusa calipers and R1 rotors for use on early Vmax models which I think are the same as the 2 piston Fz's. If yours were 4 already you might be able to simply bolt on a set of r1/r6 calipers. We did that to an 88FZR1000 and it was a direct fit. It's also a direct fit for the newer Vmax models.
