Riding along, and decide to use a little engine brake I hear a rattle (tone similar to keys jangling or plastics tapping). It sounds external but Im not quite sure... I will have to go to the airfield next week so I can ride without a helmet to get a proper listen.

She runs fine, starts first time, handles fine.

Any ideas?

Check for loose bolts and moving parts. Could be your brake pads moving around in the calipers, could be more serious.
