n9than Posted March 25, 2008 Share Posted March 25, 2008 Hello I am picking up my new bike tonight, its been bought as a non runner, the guy has said it run really well 6 months ago but its now been in storage for 6 months.... he said some new petrol and a clean of the spark plug will do the trick. Please help me as I would like to now if I should do anything else to the bike if its been standing for that long???? or should I look out for anything else ?? Look forward to anybodies reply. Jason King Posted March 25, 2008 Share Posted March 25, 2008 clean and oil filter ,make sure you can turn the engine over by hand in case its a partial seizure .fresh fuel mixed at 50:1 thats 100ml to 5 litres of petrol.new plug and away you go hopefully . good luck. n9than Posted March 26, 2008 Author Share Posted March 26, 2008 Thanks Jason, I picked it up last night and the guy had kindly spent a few hours draining it and getting it going so, now I know its not a non-runner...... have ordered an oil filter and going to sort out the mix tonight. Kind Regards Nathan YZ 125 1996 Check the tyres are ok, no splits or perished if stored with flat tyre. Are the brakes free, no binding and they release ok. Is the brake pad plenty of life left?
