nickofisher
Hi just wondering if anybody can help? My son was recently given a dt125r, i think its a mid 1990's model, to use as a field bike. When we got it the carb was missing and the wiring was a mess!!. I managed to rewire it and i and i bought a secondhand carb, which fitted fine, but when we try to kick start it, all it does is back fire?. The carb has been stripped and cleaned. It has a good spark, fresh petrol, new plug, its getting petrol to the carb and to the engine and it has good compression. Am i overlooking something simple?. As its a been 20 years since i last messed with a 2 stroke. Also its the model with electronic ignition. Why it wont start??
JamieDTX
checked the reeds? usually chipped/snapped reeds cause loss of primary comrpession and backfireing.
