Hiya All,

I picked up my new R6 on 1st March 2008 and despite being told by the dealer to break the engine in for 600 miles and then a further 400 after the initial oil change, everyone i speak to says you dont need to!

Does anyone have any advice about this or expert knowledge?

Thanks.

Dan

hi dude, bikes are run at factory , just ride the lil bugger, you dont need to stick to 6000 rpm etc just dont go totally mad, run her up to 10/12 000 nice and easy, then change oil etc and let rip after!. ps , im a fully trained yamaha techie with 15 yrs in the trade,

they just give you all this tosh to stop you killing your self in the first week you got the bike.roll on the throttle nice and easy nice long bit of road, job done.
