mikesxs.com is a great place for anything related to the xs650, and also some of the other xs models.

he has some aftermarket carb setups and i think he also has some big bore cylinder sets.

yeah i know. but i'm not going to buy the dellorto set he has at those prices.

i'm trying to find out if i should buy a 34 36 38 set of mikuni's

i've been buying from them for two years for parts on my 78 SR500.

gotcha ;)

runningvm 34's roundslides on two xs's, I buy a lot from mikes , never a problem, but on carbs try 650 central, especially if your running a modded motor , 650 central will send them tuned to order for your mods, you wont have to tweek them . no experience with mikes dleorotto's so I cant say how they compare. hope this helps.

also, your carbs should be bs38's, and should look like this.

well, heres what i'm trying to figure out.

i know MC companies send there bikes out in to the world running lean.

so my question to you all is:

should i stick with 38mm carbs and increase the jet size?

or buy a brand new set of 36mm Mikuni's?

I know 1980's and later are lean, but I think that 77's were not.

you will absolutley love roundslides, easy to tune great throttle response.

linked mine together with a peice of threadrod, youll have two choke levers but only one is needed to tickle it.
