Hi there, I was looking for some technical advice on converting my 1988 FZR 750RR from running on an 18" rear wheel to run on a 17" wheel.

I have been given a Fazer 600 (17" by 5.5") rear wheel minus the sprocket carrier and disc brake. I would need to modify the rear swing arm to take the rear spindle which isnt to hard to do, but is there an easier way to achieve this goal or is the Fazer 6 wheel a good option.

I would also need to know if the FZR rear brake hanger and caliper could be used and also which spacers to use or would these need to be made?

The tyre tat is fitted is a 180/55r17 and ive tryed to line up as best i can with what i have and there looks to be plenty of room and i am pretty sure this tyre size is good, but i need your help as ive never had to do a mod of this scale before.

If it would be easier to fit a FZR 1000 RU rear swingarm, wheel, brakes and shocker and all the wee bits and bobs then let me know.

Waiting with fingers crossed.

Rusty
