Check all leads. Also check the kill switch operation.
February 20, 200817 yr hi, i am having the same problem. I checked my rectifier and it appears that it is not putting out any current, i suspect it is bad, but not entirely sure. i ordered a new one, but it did not match, so i am in the process of getting another. have you determined what is wrong with yours??
April 16, 200816 yr Hi I have just restored my xs1100 and I have the same problem that you'r talking about. After about 5-10 min the bike starts missing on two and then all four cut out. The starter does have enough to try and turn over the engine. I did confirm that there is a total loss of ignition spark when the bike cuts out. Afer a few minutes the bike fires up just to stop again. Do this for a number of times and she will stop dead even after the starter comes back to full power.Have you by any chance figured out what your problem was. Hi! Got a problem w/ my 79' XS1100F. Thanks! this sounds just like a common fault with a vmax. on the vmax the ground cable from the battery is not heavy enough(standard bike) but there is an after maket one you can buy.
