October 31, 200717 yr What are the normal operating temperatures for a 2000 r1? I was seeing 227 at idle and it was making me a bit nervous... Just joined. I have a 2004 R1 and currently working in India. Mumbai to be precise. I note my bike runs extremely hot and I mean hot, especially in stop, start traffic. As long as the fan comes in as required should not be an issue. Tried a short trip in shorts and ended with a red heat rash on my left leg.

October 31, 200717 yr I have a 2000 R1 and my temp only goes up to around 150 at idle, obviously you will have checked the water level and have the correct amount of coolant in
