October 25, 200717 yr It is a small white cog-sprocket looking gizmo, plastic probably, called the Throttle Stop Screw under and to the rear of the gas tank, at the seat junction. Kind of hard to get to but I adjust mine from the right side. Use a long screw driver if you can't reach it with the fingers. Turn it IN to increase idle, OUT to slow the idle. Mine is a 77 XS360 so I'm sure it is the same.
