Posted October 5, 200717 yr Hi In need of some help please. Recently brought a 1997 yzf600r thundercat which is brilliant! But im only 5'5" and need to lower it. do i have to buy a lowering kit for it, or is the suspension adjustable already? Thanks pj
October 5, 200717 yr There are firms that sell lowering kits, they advertise in MCN. You could also have the seat lowered and if all else fails, try smaller wheels!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously though, at five foot five you should be OK with a little stretch.

Seriously though, at five foot five you should be OK with a little stretch. well im ok riding the bike and stopping and stuff, but to manouver the bike is really hard, if im on a slight gradiant and sat on it, its not that easy for me.
October 7, 200717 yr well im ok riding the bike and stopping and stuff, but to manouver the bike is really hard, if im on a slight gradiant and sat on it, its not that easy for me. the bike does have a steel frame as opposed to its brother the r6 which is aluminum... our bike (the cat) is almost 60pounds heavier and turning can be a bitch 417 pounds compared to 357... ours is bulkier to but youre not that tiny... just uhhhh wear heels hahahaha kidding
