Posted October 1, 200717 yr My xs250 is running a very sootty plug on one side. Starts first kick with no choke when cold and is a bit sluggish when hot. Hoping this is just a carb problem so will lowering the float do the trick or is it not that simple.

Hoping this is just a carb problem so will lowering the float do the trick or is it not that simple. check pilot screw is 1.5 turns from bottom on each carb. its located on the manifold side in front of the diaphrams on the top (brass screw)
