I have a bit of a conundrum at the moment and im looking for a bit of advice.

The outer race of the bearing in the back wheel is not snug in the hub of the wheel so i need to fix it and i have a few options.

1) Go off and locate a 2nd hand rear wheel, it seems the more logical thing to do.

2) Buy a new hub and re-spoke it to the existing rim.

3) Re-machine the hub to take a larger bearing unit.

4) Use some sort of compound (bearing compound or chemical metal) to permanently glue the outer race to the hub.

5) Hands over the ears and ignore the problem.

Problems with the above options:

1) Cant find a 2nd hand wheel anywhere ebay, local papers, word of mouth, nada!! But head to the main dealer for a whole new wheel $$$$$$$$

2) Getting a wheel re spoked $$$$$$

3) Getting someone to go it right and accuratly???? not around here.

4) Using a compound is still only temporary and the true centre of the wheel might be inaccurate.

5) na na na im not listening......

Has anyone else had that problem before and how was it fixed. I have a temp solution by hammering a few notches in the inside of the hub to catch the outer race of the bearing but i need to get it fixed.

Im not sure what to do, does anyone have a solution....

Any help greatly appreciated, Thanks
