R1 Nutter Posted September 8, 2007 Share Posted September 8, 2007 My 1999 R1 has tghe last 3 days had trouble with its gears. When I try and change up to 3rd, 4th and 5th gears I have to literally kick the lever to change gear and sometimes it takes 2-3 attemps. Then all of a sudden its fine again? I can change down with no problems, and the trouble is when the engine is both cold or warm. I have checked the oil level which is fine and the oil has only bee in there the last 1500 miles and is the right grade. This is an intermitent problem, but more time bad then good. Any ideas? chrisw Posted September 8, 2007 Share Posted September 8, 2007 Could be that there's load's of crud all around the linkages. I've had a similiar problem with my R6.
