Hi I Have a Xvs 125 Dragstar and the spedo light has gone

i tried getting to the light but the whole thing only moves about 2 inches any idea

what to do or am i doing something wrong

Before you take off the speedo housing, you must disconnect the speedometer cable from the wheel. If like my bike, the cable runs from the speedo housing unit to bottom of the left hand front fork. Just unscrew the bolt where the cable meets the fork and detach the cable from the wheel. You should then unscrew the speedo housing and care fully lift the housing. Then replace the faulty bulb.
