muchogusto Posted September 4, 2007 Share Posted September 4, 2007 i am trying to find out how to repair my fork seals. they seem to be leaking. how can i reseal and repair my forks? i am also wondering if it would be worth it to get forks from a newer bike so i could have disc brakes. is that possible? what would be best in the end? also, where is the best place to find used parts for this bike? it is a 1982 yamaha xt 550. thanks to all for help and suggestions. Sounds like you're @ the decision point of making the upgrade that I've been wanting to do to mine for 3 years now! The 550 was only produced in '82 & '83......so if it was me....I'd look for a (hopefully complete) front end from '84-90 XT600.
