R6S2k Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 I just recently bought a yamaha R6 from friend who had put the batteries on back wards like + to - and - to + he doesnt have any money to fix it. so i bought it from him and i was wondering how much would it take to fix it??
yoda Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 I didn't think that was possible but as they say, someone will do it. You need to check out each individual electrical system on the bike. Start with the charging system and if this is still working, you are very lucky. You should see about 14 volts above idle speed. Next is the ignition system, if the bike starts up, your laughing. Then after all of that, everything else that I can think of should be OK as it is not affected by polarity. While your having a sortout, check the bikes earth (ground) and ensure that it is good. You do not state the year but I suspect that it doesn't have any fueling computers. If it has, then start looking for second hand parts.
R6S2k Posted August 26, 2007 Author Posted August 26, 2007 thank!! i checked it today and it was just a small problem
